Guest guest
Welcome le, What you wrote was our story as well. My son is 11 (btw my daughter is 4 too lol) and he was just diagnosed with AS this past February. 4 months after his 11th birthday. I am sure we could compare stories with the same age difference between our children as well, feel free to email me any time. This is a great group too. -Charlotte New to group intro Hello, My name is le. I live in Denver, CO with my hubby of 15 years and my two kids. I have a 4 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. It's my son who is suspected of being AS and from everything I have read these last few days I would have to say that he is. I am in the process of learning everything I can about it. He will also get more testing over the summer. We have always thought my son would "grow" out of the things that he does (the hand flapping and feet twitching for example) but this year in school was a hard one with emotional outbursts. I have to say I am scared and I just hope we do the right things for him as we go forward. I look forward to learning from all you and getting to know you better. Thanks, le Bachman
Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome. How do you like the big age difference in your kids? I love it. It's not exactly what we had planned but I would not change it for anything now. le BachmanBroker AssociateColdwell Banker Residentialwww.thebachmanteam.com"Full Service is Back!" Guest guest
I loved it for the first 2 years and so did my son. We started running into problems when my daughter hit around 3 and started doing what little sisters do by getting into his stuff and his space and this sends him over the edge. My son went from being a warm caring older brother to his baby sister to fighting with his sister 90%of the time they are together. It's sad. I think that 1/2 the problem is that in every area he has a deficit she is advanced so with my 2 you take his immaturity and her maturity and it's more like I have a 6 & 8 year old with a REALLY big size difference!! I am actually looking for a good book now to explain things to my daughter who witnesses his meltdowns and is now asking questions. They have moments of getting along but those are few and far between these days. She LOVES her big brother more than anything in the world but still thinks making him blow up is an Olympic sport she wants to take the gold in! Hope this is not what happens in your house! -Charlotte New to group intro Hello, My name is le. I live in Denver, CO with my hubby of 15 years and my two kids. Guest guest
My 10 and 4 year old are the same way......... They fight constantly but to be perfectly honest I think most of it is just sibling stuff. The little one gets into his stuff and the older one gets mad.... typical problem...... I remember doing the same things when I was a kid..... It will pass...... in Lancaster, Cadesigns <scottdesigns@...> wrote: I loved it for the first 2 years and so did my son. Guest guest
Fortunately for me that has not happened here. My son has his own room and we made it so the baby could not open the door on her own. They do play in his room and he is very good about sharing and they do not get into big fights. My daughter will play the "baby sister" card and whine when she is not getting her way and it usually works. Sometimes I feel like my son is getting blamed for a lot of things and I feel sorry for him. I think the maturity issues will manifest themselves real soon here. She is growing up so fast and will overtake him in things real soon. One thing is my son has no desire to ride a bike and he can't anyways. My daughter loves her bike and will be taking off the training wheels very soon. I am going to take both kids out of day care this summer and spend the entire summer with them. We are very excited about having time together. I feel like I never get to see them now. We will also be getting help for my son now that we know his problems are AS related. I want to make sure next year goes a little more smoothly than this year did. The book that I hear might help you is called "Can I tell you about Aspergers Syndrome". I found it on Amazon.com and from what I hear it is really helpful. I don't have a copy of it yet to give my opinion. Hope that helps. le BachmanBroker AssociateColdwell Banker Residential New to group intro Hello, My name is le. I live in Denver, CO with my hubby of 15 years and my two kids. Guest guest
lol, I have the book and plan on reading it to her. As for the bike thing, I totally know what you mean. My son has no interest in his bike and can not ride it but my daughter asked for her training wheels off last month......more of that is on the way I am sure. New to group intro Hello, My name is le. I swtiched over to soy in 2000-2001. I just love it. I love BOTH don't get me wrong but I had to choose just 1 to make - so soy it is! Nice to meet you. Guest guest
Well, hi there, . I don't know how I messed this up. Do you know anything about this group of soapmakers in the area? I am dying to know who and where they are. Anyone with any info about the upstate NY soapmakers group, please let me know. Guest guest
Greetings everyone! I'm Rita from Ontario Canada. Our youngest, now a teen, was vaccinated through infancy while undergoing 2 surgeries/full spectrum antibiotics for a congenital defect in his ureter (surgery botched, they had to go in and take his kidney out a few weeks later!) We naively trusted the doctors when they told me it was fine to go ahead with his vaccines, even though they were within weeks of the surgeries and antibiotics. He developed life threatening allergies and his body was covered in eczema and it wasn't until after his 18 month shots (his anaphylaxis to eggs got him out of the MMR!) when we had consulted an MD from Russia practicing in Ontario as a naturopath who just shook her head after hearing his history and asking if he was vaccinated as an infant. We didn't make the connection until then. I am forever grateful to that naturopath for making the connection for us. My main focus has been the connection between anaphylaxis and vaccines, but I am increasingly worried about potential forced vaccine situations! I look forward to joining...... thanks! Guest guest
Hi Rita Your story is similar to mine. My baby had perfect skin until his 2 months shots. He then got eczema really bad about 3 days after the shot...after each vax his skin got worse and worse. Come to find out at 9 mos he had every food allergy under the sun. (Mind you he took my breast milk just fine) until his shots...then he started to reacting after each feed. I believe the shots caused my sons eczema and food allergies because NOBODY in my immediate family or otherwise have eczema and or allergies. He started something new in the gene pool. My baby I had after that has not had 1 vax and he is 2.5 yrs old and no eczema or food allergies whatsoever. Welcome to the group! Guest guest
Dear Rita, I'm so glad for you that your naturopath figured this out! My sister was the same story as your child; a kidney problem that got progressively worse, probably due to vaxes and constant antibiotics. When my family moved to Australia in the 70's a dr finally diagnosed kidney failure on one side, and she had the organ removed when she was 4. My son was subsequently diagnosed with hydronephrosis at birth; he was never vaxed and the kidney problem has never been an issue. At this point the kidney is almost normal. The initial consultation, they sought to reassure me by saying, " he can be on medicine for the first 3 years that will protect him from infection... " When I asked about the " medicine " it seemed they wanted to put him on prophylactic antibiotics for 3 years! I found research saying that 60% of kids on these had breakthrough infections anyway. I flat out refused. He is 19 months now, with no symptoms. Good luck to you and your family! My sister is now 39 and fine, by the way...
