Guest guest
Hi, Gena. I am stunned that the doctor's solution for asthma in a 3-yr-old is to give a vaccine which is recommended for an infant. That makes NO sense to me. Even if your son was a baby, it wouldn't make sense. The Hib vaccine is not an asthma treatment. You could look here for the vaccine package insert to see what it's cultured with. I think more than one company makes it: http://vaers.hhs.gov/pdf/PackageInserts.pdf What natural medicines have you tried? Are you avoiding dairy completely? Your son is only three. Mine was three when he had his asthma/wheezing/allergies. It took time to get him over it--a few years, but the results showed immediately. It's only been a year for your son, and regardless of whatever natural meds you've used so far, you've also used many " traditional " meds that can make the condition worse. If you want to email me off list I can give you more info on what actually works. For now, I strongly suggest you find a good naturopath. Where do you live? Your doctors are not helping, your son is getting worse and they are grasping at straws. Guest guest
Hi Winnie, Well the Doc said it was not too late... She actually recommended it because of the pneumonia and sinusitis. Guest guest
Not to my knowledge.. We only use natural cleaning products. But, I have been thinking about an air purifier. Guest guest
Of course the doctor recommended it. you don't find doctors falling all over themselves to say 'stay away from vaccines " . keep not doing the vaxxes and talk to a homeopath for the health issues! Guest guest
Dear , Thank you for taking the time to write. I use Rice Dream for my son when he eats cold cereal. He doesn't drink milk. But, I haven't really thought about looking in hidden forms of milk in products. That would be hard because it's in bread and lots of things. (Anybody really strict with this? I would love to hear your story.) I do have my son on a probiotic and some cod-liver oil. I don't know what else to do... I know diet has a lot do with it...it's really hard sometimes. You gave me some things to think/re-think about. I, myself love raw milk. I am having some issues, with head cold...I really didn't think it was the milk, though. Thanks, again for your thoughts.....gena > > I am not a doctor, homeopath, or a health professional. I am at times, empathic. When I read your letter my first thought was completely cut out dairy. I know it is hard. It is is so many processed foods too. It seems to be in everything. But the dairy is what creates mucus in our bodies basically. I know I am not saying it very scientifically or wordily, but it is true that dairy wreaks havoc on our bodies. Also it came to me that your son may have a yeast/ bacteria imbalance, leaning towards the yeast. It can cause strange rashes. I don't know if I am right at all, but my clairvoyant side would not let me sleep till I wrote this. Maybe others that have a greater capacity with words and links to share can speak up. Figured since you are researching you may want to know this too. > > a quick search found these sites > > http://www.milksucks.com/mucus.asp > > WOW I found a site that explains what I was talking about, and even knows better than I did about what I was talking about! > > http://www.stopyeast.com/skin.html > > I believe its goal is to sell you something at the bottom, but all the stuff on the way is dead on. I have heard of many ways to eliminate candida if that is what anyone wants to do after reading that. > > carrie single mama to 2 dds (5.6 yo, & 9 wk old). cosleep, nonvax, elimination communication (raising a baby without a dependence on diapers), breastfeed on demand, child led weaning, child led learning, natural health, wanna-be activist sahm > > > > > 17. Guest guest
As you suspect he's at least intolerant of milk and wheat, I'd go with and totally eliminate dairy and wheat. Then I'd see a Homeopath. No vaccine is going to make your son better, but it may well make him worse. Even though you've only used steroids occasionally, they suppress the symptoms, driving the original dis-ease deeper, so next time he reacts worse and so it goes on.... Homeopathy is much more likely to heal him. Guest guest
I know, Katarina! How disappointed I was, too. Asthma is very serious and if you have an 'attack' you have to go to the Dr. and do the meds... You can't go very long without air... I pray our sons will out-grow this.... gena > > > > > > Hi Gena & welcome! > It's scarry how similar our situations are, i am in the exact same > boat :0 how starnge is that? Guest guest
Gena and Katarina, I'm just wondering if either of you received antibiotics while you were carrying your babes that have asthma? The reason I ask is that my youngest, who is 9-months-old now, is showing signs of many food allergies and has had asthma-like reactions to goat milk and egg (my mom decided he needed to eat egg one day. grrrrr!! I told her she better not even THINK about giving him anything dairy!!). I started wracking my brain, and the thing that keeps plaguing me is that I received antibiotics for a bad kidney infection while I was pregnant. I tried to stay off the antibiotics, but gave it to pressure when even my midwife started telling me that if I didn't take the antibiotics I could die, since the infection was in my kidneys. I'm going to take my son to a homeopath. He started with cradle cap when he was a couple months old, then has developed these allergies, and has been sick quite a bit this winter too (he and I both have). I really, really think the antibiotics had something to do with it. He is completely unvaccinated. I kick myself now, because other than the antibiotics, I had NO drugs during the pregnancy... not a Tylenol, NOTHING. My oldest, who is also completely unvaccinated, doesn't have ANY issues whatsoever. He never gets sick, or if he does, it is gone in a flash, doesn't have any allergies, no breathing issues, nothing. I didn't take any abx (or any other drug) when I was pregnant with him, either. Ds has been on high quality concentrated cod liver oil(Spectrum) since he was like 5 months old but now i give it to him maybe twice a week because he is allergic in general so should not be consuming the same food daily. I also supplement with vit.D that i buy at Whole Foods and during summer we spend as much time as possible under the sun without sunscreen. He usually gets a nice deep tan by the end of summer. I also supplement with vit.C and when his colds get asthmatic, i give him echenacea/goldnseal kids tincture. So yes i am doing a lot and besides we alway had a clean diet with mostly natural, home cooked foods, raw dairy, coconut oils, etc. I feel like i did everything i could to have a healthy child, no meds, no vaccines, did not supress his eczema with steriods but it still turned into asthma......go figure.... Hi , No i was not on antibiotics while pregnant and i did not take any medicine at all until the actual birth(a few tylenols & epidural). I had a round of IV antibiotics after a c-section because i had a fever but the baby was already out by then and i was told that that kind of abx were safe but was not allowed to breatfeed the first 24 hours. I am of the firm belief that food allergies are mainly an issue of an imbalance in the gut flora. If we as moms (and dads) have imbalanced gut flora and yeast overgrowth, then we pass that on to our baby in the birth canal and through our breastmilk. If our baby is born via C-section, they miss the chance to even pass through the birth canal and receive any beneficial flora at all. A MUST READ on this subject is called " Gut & Pshychology Syndrome " by Natasha -Mcbride. You can buy it directly here... http://www.gutandpsychologysyndrome.com/. It is only available used from Amazon in the US (she is British). The surprising thing is that she puts food allergies on the same spectrum with ADD/ADHD, autism, asperger's and other mental disorders. You'll see how it all connects when you read the book. Best of luck, Caroline > > > > > > Hi Gena & welcome! > It's scarry how similar our situations are, i am in the exact same > boat :0 how starnge is that? Your children will inherit tendencies from things inherited from parents too This is where homeopathy treatment can benefit, when you have tried all of the above things I'm sure it is frustrating Sheri listowner
Guest guest
Hey Katarina, No, not while I was pregnant...But, after birth, I got a nasty infection and my midwife put me on antibiotics. I breast-fed on demand...so, that might be the connection. I don't know. gena > > Gena and Katarina, > > I'm just wondering if either of you received antibiotics while you > were carrying your babes that have asthma? Pollen allergies yes but noone has asthma or food allergies. My husband's grandmother has occassional asthma now that she is 86 and it started just a few years ago with her. But she is farm raised strong Russian women who still has most of her teeth, LOL. I am searching for a good, experienced homeopath in NJ with high cure rate. If you know anyone in NJ or maybe Manhattan, i'd love to know. I trust your judgement Sheri. Thanks, Katarina

It's all natural and has 400IU per piece. It's the best i can find that are not loaded with artificial ingredients.
Guest guest
Okay, that could be a culprit, too. I was on a round of abx after my son was born and breastfed on demand while taking them. I, too, was told they were the " safe " ones, but the fear of God was also put in me in that if the abx I was taking didn't work, I'd have to resort to a stronger one and would have to quit breastfeeding. This was for yet another kidney infection, and that was when I found d-Mannose and never looked back. I was NOT about to quit breastfeeding. Incidentally, the infection recurred as long as I was taking abx... when I switched to homeopathy, the infection cleared and it hasn't been back. I truly believe the antibiotics have something to do with the allergies/asthma/cradle cap/ezcema stuff. I don't mean you inherit asthma, but inherit illness (what we call miasms in homeopathy). It can exhibit as many different conditions. We are in a sorry situation with homeopaths Most are 4th edition of Organon practitioners which means dry potencies Hahnemann went on to write 2 more editions - 5th & 6th - and few follow this as few schools teach it. I have referred and referred to homeopaths on lists that seem to have good credentials and this is always the case. I now give you those questions to ask homeopaths on lists like http://www.homeopathy-cures.com click on find a homeopath Otherwise there are only a few homeopaths I refer to (who practice similarly to myself, following the laws and principles). The one who has openings right now (a 2 month waiting list though) is Munno in AZ who does phone consults. This works well. I also do phone consults, but am not taking patients right now. I will send you his info. But for minor acutes and first aid, this is why I teach this class - so you can work with them yourselves. Good luck Sheri see below *************** To find a quality classical homeopath near you, best choice is to email me and let me know where you live. I am compiling a short list of homeopaths that I personally refer to as they practice more in alignment with my way of practicing. (some will do phone sessions) There are many lists of homeopaths out there */but I have gotten discouraged referring many of you/*, over the years, to homeopaths on lists, even classical lists. Also call and interview THEM first You can tell a lot from that. If it is hard to reach them, then may be hard to reach them later when you need them Also can tell whether you get on well Many people take a few workshops and think they do homeopathy - or read a few books - or study for a year. It take a long in depth study . Here are some questions to help determine quality Though the practitioners names I gave you all have excellent credentials which implies quality. But you never know. Questions 1. Where did you study homeopathy? (should be a specific program or intense study with a particular knowledgeable person) 2. How long did you study? (should be a number of years - usually 3 or 4 or more) Also what other postgraduate education have you had? 3. Who did you mentor with? (who did they have their clinical experience with) 4. Do you mix homeopathy with herbs, drugs, other things??? Or do you ONLY use homeopathic remedies. (answer should be ONLY homeopathic remedies) 5. Do you use just one remedy at a time (should use 1 remedy and watch and wait - (should wait longer periods for chronic things, shorter periods for acute things) Should not have you taking more than one remedy or taking them on a routine basis (usually) or alternating remedies 6. What type of potencies do you use? Dry or water potencies? (best answer is water potencies, but these people are few and far between but I have some I can refer you to) 7. Have you read the Organon? (the main source to learn homeopathy and KNOW the principles). If so, how often do you read it? What edition of the Organon do you base your work on? (most good homeopaths are reading it constantly or at least yearly & use the 5th & 6th edition) 8. what is your view on allopathic vaccination (so many homeopaths don't have clue about the dangers of vaccinations, believe it or not even though it is so obvious if you know homeopathic principles, so don't expect enlightenment here - it is up to you to educate them! - they seem to have a blind spot here and as brainwashed as the rest of the world in many cases - join me in educating them!) Some of them don't like to say until they know you because of fear of reprisal by allopaths and spies. 9. Have you had experience treating someone with similar symptoms to my child before? (not vital, but helpful - homeopathy doesn't treat by disease name but by symptom pictures, but it helps if they know this kind of condition) 10. How available are you in an emergency, nights, weekends? 1. Find out how accessible they are to talk to 2. What about after hours/weekends My article gives you an idea how a homeopath works http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/homeo.htm <http://www.nccn.net/wwithin/homeo.htm>
