Guest guest
Welcome Jenn, I am sorry about your mom, if it is ok with you I will pray for her. I haven't heard of anyone having this much trouble with adhesions but I know they are a problem for a lot of people. I hope you enjoy the group, everyone is very kind and understanding. I am 46 and have fibromyalgia, diabetes, asthma, chronic sinusitis (I am having sinus surgery Mon), possible cystic fibrosis (being tested), gerd, IBS, sleep apnea(sleep w/ c-flex), restless leg syndrome, insomnia, irritable bladder, endometriosis, probably something I can't remember and depression & anxiety... I had a panic attack Thurs and thought it was asthma and ended up in the ER. It was awful. Oh yes I am married to Mr. Insensitive (these days anyway)and have 2 great kids, Nick is 24 and a pharm tech and wants to be a pharmacist, is 22 and is going to school to be a mechanical engineer, and she also has cystic fibrosis. anyway, Welcome again and I am glad you're here. love, Orange Co CA
Guest guest
Does she take any kind of product to help her go? I found some stuff online, actually going to purchase for my son, called black magic http://www.blackmagichealthfood.com/bm_about.html Additionally, from Dr Natura, the Colonix powder helped him to better relieve himself. Sounds like liver health may be out of wack... and possibly leaky gut syndrome. other references for information ... http://www.weightcontroldoctor.com -- has great information concerning liver health and what happens when liver is not functioning properly. http://www.afpafitness.com/articles/LEAKGUT4.HTM -- addresses issues with leaky gut which causes autoimmune deficiencies. Hi...I'm new here... Hi Everyone,I'm new here. My name is Jenn. I'm 30 yrs old and my mom has been suffering with adhesions/short bowel syndrome and intestinal problems off and on since 2001. It's a long and complicated story. Basically, she had a routine surgery to remove a cyst on her ovary in 2001, developed a small bowel obstruction and required a 2nd surgery a wk later. She ended up having most of her small bowel removed and has had problems ever since. She had to have surgery again in 2003 & 2005 due to adhesions complications. She feels good for about a yr and a 1/2 each time and then the symptoms reoccur. Currently, she is having constipation, bloating where she looks 9 mos pregnant all the time, and abdominal pain. We have seen so many doctors and she is going through so many tests right now. They are not sure if adhesions are causing her symptoms again or there is something else wrong. Her colorectal surgeon said she might need to have another surgery and possibly remove more small bowel and/or her colon. This is very frustrating and hard to watch my mom suffer so much! She is on so much medication now that she is unable to work and depressed. It wears on us both, especially when her illness is so unpredictable and hard to get answers. Does anyone have experiences with intestinal disorders? I am just looking to talk to people who understand because they are also dealing with an illness or the stress of being a caregiver. Please respond or email me. Thanks for listening! Jenn

Guest guest
I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and my family. My husband and I live in Illinois with our 4 month old daughter. She had her recommended 2 month round of shots and afterwards I asked myself, " What did I just do? " I immediately began to research in an effort to come to a more informed decision before her next appointment. My daughter was born with transverse limb deficiency and is missing her right arm below the elbow. We feel we do not need risk adding to the struggles she will already need to overcome in her lifetime. (Although, I should note she is doing beautifully and meeting her milestones on time, and some even early! That's my girl!) I had a completely natural pregnancy and childbirth. I ate healthy the entire time and exercised to the end. We rarely take meds, even as simple as Tylenol. I guess when I was at her 2 month appointment I just assumed that I should trust the doctor's recommendation. My research however has brought me to a different decision. As it currently stands, we have decided not to vaccinate her. We may do so prior to her starting school, as we have read Dr. 's recommendation on waiting until age 2. I am also familiar with the Generation Rescue website and their research and vaccine recommendations. We feel that the risk of being affected neurologically for a lifetime from a vaccine is just not worth the risk of facing a childhood disease. Especially since we maintain a healthy lifestyle. Before having my daughter, I was a teacher and saw firsthand how each year the classes had more and more children being diagnosed with ADHD and Autism and I personally feel that in many cases it is a result of vaccines, especially after reading how they are made. I hope to meet other parents with similar views as mine and to see how they have navigated this path without vaccinating. I also wondered if anyone was familiar with obtaining exemptions and had any suggestions for me? I've read that medical exemptions are difficult to obtain and that it would be hard for me to get a religious exemption as they may decide that I am " insincere " due to the fact that my daughter did receive her first round of vaccines. Another concern I have is that Shriner's Hospital may refuse to work with us in creating a prosthetic for our girl because her vaccines will not be up to date. We go in a couple weeks and I guess I'll find out then. The only thing mentioned in the information they sent was, " Bring your vaccine record. " I look forward to talking with you all, sharing information, and hearing your ideas! =) -
Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome. Unless you are in West Virginia or Mississippi, you can claim a religious or philosophical exemption based on your state and the shriners can't refuse to work with you (unless they are totally private and accept NO government funding but I'm pretty sure they do?).
