Guest guest
hi everyone, we had a little crisis / emergency yesterday. i got a call from a friend who works with my husbands saying that he had fainted at work, and had a seizure... the ambulance was there and they were taking him to the hospital. Make a very long story short all tests (catscan, blood work) came back fine (thank G-d!) and he basically had gotten dehydrated, and fainted and had hit his head very hard when he fell which caused the seizure. Heres my question / quandry / statement. Basically, our good friend went with him to the hospital right away (i was over an hour away at the time) and he told me that they gave my husband a tetanus shot bec he hit his head / open wound etc. My husband later told me that obviously he was out of it and wasnt able to reject the shot - but i immediately thought " hmmm we're anti vaccinations... " (but it was too late by that point.) I mean im not THAT upset about it, but like i wonder if it was maybe another vaccination etc, or it was a younger child --- shouldnt there be some sort of requesting permission ? I understand that in emergency situations the doctors and nurses just do whatever needs to be done, and im cool with that.... but i was just a little taken aback to find out that he got a shot and if he was able to answer he probably would have refused it ? Im not really sure what im asking - hmmm well maybe just to vent a little to my anti vaccination friends any thoughts ? Have a good weekend everyone - deb
