Guest guest
This does pose a good question... for instance, if my child is injured while at preschool and they have him transported to the ER, what if they give him a vaccine, antibiotic, etc. while I'm on my way there without my consent. I've thought about this before and have wondered if something like a medic alert bacelet or necklace could be worn by the child stating that no vaccines or antibiotics are to be given without express WRITTEN parental permission. Think something like that would be respected by medical staff? One of the things that does concern me is that My son's school would likely transport him to the ER for things that I would treat myself, if in the same situation with him at home. For instnace, my son fell out of bed and slashed his nose open this last summer. The wound was pretty deep, but I chose to treat it myself with homeopathics, colloidal silver (topically) and butterfly bandages, rather that subjecting him to stitches or wound glue and a tetanus shot at the ER. He healed up nicely and doesn't even have a scar on his nose now. On Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 2:02 PM, Deborah <gubertush@...> wrote: shouldnt there be some sort of requesting permission ? Guest guest
For younger people - your children, write over everything; ID cards, schoolbooks if necessary, including in their schoolbags, (Skull & Crossbones sign) ABSOLUTELY NO VACCINES TO BE GIVEN! We do the same for ourselves so if there should be an emergency, the first thing seen in our bags, wallets etc is the no vax warning! Maracuja hi everyone, we had a little crisis / emergency yesterday. i got a call from a friend who works with my husbands saying that he had fainted at work, and had a seizure... the ambulance was there and they were taking him to the hospital. Make a very long story short all tests (catscan, blood work) came back fine (thank G-d!) and he basically had gotten dehydrated, and fainted and had hit his head very hard when he fell which caused the seizure. Heres my question / quandry / statement. Basically, our good friend went with him to the hospital right away (i was over an hour away at the time) and he told me that they gave my husband a tetanus shot bec he hit his head / open wound etc. My husband later told me that obviously he was out of it and wasnt able to reject the shot - but i immediately thought " hmmm we're anti vaccinations. .. " (but it was too late by that point.) I mean im not THAT upset about it, but like i wonder if it was maybe another vaccination etc, or it was a younger child --- shouldnt there be some sort of requesting permission ? I understand that in emergency situations the doctors and nurses just do whatever needs to be done, and im cool with that.... but i was just a little taken aback to find out that he got a shot and if he was able to answer he probably would have refused it ? Im not really sure what im asking - hmmm well maybe just to vent a little to my anti vaccination friends any thoughts ? Have a good weekend everyone - deb
Guest guest
Hi Deb, Yes, this is what it is boiling down to. You have no choice in medical treatment. Very slowly, they are seeing just what they can get away with and sadly they are getting away with forced so- called " medicine " . If I were you, I wouldn't let them get away with it. I would be marching up to that hospital and demanding to see who is in charge because quite obviously " informed consent " was not practiced. Get a copy of what your husband signed when he was admitted. If he didn't sign anything and your friend is not legally able to make decisions, you might have a lawsuit on your hands. Also, doctors are LEGALLY required to give the patient a Vaccine Information Statement. How could he read it if he was out of it??!! Please keep us posted. I would ask for a tilt table test to see if his blood pressure & heart rate do anything funky. E-mail me offlist for more info about this. > Heres my question / quandry / statement. I would be furious! What if he was allergic to the ingredients and then had an anaphylatic reaction?? Seriously, I would be fuming. The tetanus shot could have waited until he was conscious. )0(~~~)0(~~~)0( Mom to Brittany, vag 08/31/93, dx'd IDDM 05/28/01; , c/s 06/28/97; Shayna, Inv T c/s 06/01/00, dx'd NCS 12/03/08; Thalea, VBA2C 06/24/07 MC - 04/20/08 Read Thalea's birth story here: http://www.jessicas-haven.com/baby.htm Vaccine free since 1999. Guest guest
Very little can be done about it now apart from Homeopathic treatment to minimise the dangers, BUT I will never understand why doctors, vets etc continually ignore the manufacturers instructions that vaccines are only to be given to healthy individuals - someone who has just fainted, hit their head and had a fit is NOT healthy!!!!! I hope your huband will be OK, Muriel > > hi everyone, > we had a little crisis / emergency yesterday. i got a call from a > friend who works with my husbands saying that he had fainted at > work, and had a seizure... the ambulance was there and they were > taking him to the hospital. > > Make a very long story short all tests (catscan, blood work) came > back fine (thank G-d!) and he basically had gotten dehydrated, and > fainted and had hit his head very hard when he fell which caused the > seizure. > > Heres my question / quandry / statement. Guest guest
I also write " NO VACCINES, NOT EVEN TETANUS " all over everything. But, I don't have a lot of faith that anyone reads the forms. One of my sons banged his head during football practice (turned out to be a concussion) and no one notified me. My son said, " Are you sure? I gave them both the home and cell numbers. " What? Don't they have them on record? And either way they didn't call. What if he was unconscious? Can't trust them completely. You just have to make sure whoever is in charge knows how adamant you are about vaccines, including friends (and, of course, your child has to know someone might come at them with a needle, and it's okay to scream NO). Winnie hmmm curious Vaccinations > hi everyone, > we had a little crisis / emergency yesterday. i got a call from > a > friend who works with my husbands saying that he had fainted at > work, and had a seizure... the ambulance was there and they were > taking him to the hospital. > > Make a very long story short all tests (catscan, blood work) > came > back fine (thank G-d!) and he basically had gotten dehydrated, > and > fainted and had hit his head very hard when he fell which caused > the > seizure. > > Heres my question / quandry / statement.
