Lynn, I had about 3,000 critter, product, and procedure photos in a Webshots account called livingwithcritters, and a domain by that name where I had an article describing my protocol at that time with photos. We went through a big scare about the "big brother is taking names" thing and since I was paying for both accounts, my real name was tied to them. Probably way too late, but I shut both down one day when the danger seemed particularly real.

- One thing about , though, is that replaced clubs, and closed all their clubs at once without warning, and could do the same with . My point is that rather than count on the information being available at the bird mites group, when you read a post you want to keep, SAVE IT.

Individual Emails - I have my bird mites account set to send me individual emails (which I prefer over digests). Also, I pay for my email (about $20 a year is all) in hopes that they will not delete my thousands of messages.

Search - The group search (as all group searches) is screwed up, but email has a great search feature that will search the content of emails. For example, I searched for "kj" and hopefully the attachment will work and you can see what search results look like.

Privacy - I set up a filter in my email that sends all my bird mites emails to a folder called zbird mites so it does not show up in the folder list, and so the emails do not show up in my emails, if someone else happens to (click Options, More Options in regular email) be looking over my shoulder when I have open.

Critterfiles Library and Gallery - I had a sweet phone call from Bill about keeping critterfiles open also. No, Bill, it costs me nothing, so I will keep it open. If you want to visit the Critterfiles group, you have to join it. I keep it private so I can screen out vendors, pornographers, and cranks. To find it, search for "critterfiles." I have to approve members, but naturally I will approve anyone whom I recognize from here, of course. Also, it is a library, not a share group like this one, and thus for reference only. I do have a couple of members who write good informational articles whom I allow to post. Let me know if you would like to do this. You can use your real or screen name, or remain anonymous.

KajaySo sorry you are shutting down your site. Is there a way you could do a facebook photo gallerie or maybe use Webshots. I love their photos there and you can store photos there. I don't know if they charge though....

BTW I announced to critterfiles members that I was closing the group and that if > anyone wanted to copy any of the files from my library there or from my photo > galleries, please do so soon.
