Your lucky with your experience, but I believe religious schools can object..

I believe out of 195 Catholic schools in NJ 16 of them do not accept religious

exemptions.  This makes absolutely no sense to me and they are also going

against the

Constitution of the United States.  It also goes against everything I

learned being a Catholic.  Aborted Fetal

tissue cells are in vaccines, so how can they object???

I just don't understand how they can get away with it, and actually state in the

parent handout that they will not accept

religious exemptions for immunizations.

Maybe I need to speak to a lawyer?

Re: exemption question again...

okay, I thought that both private and public schools have to accept

exemptions?

By the way, I had a parent orentation in my son's pre-school, that

talked about the rules of the school.

It was funny because for orentation the lady was reading the part

about the immunizations that they need to be up-to-date, blah blah,

and than she says, but of course, if you have a notarized letter on

file stating that is against your religious beliefs that is fine

too. She recently learned that this is the case with me, the first

time anyone does this, she knows.

our school district.  Since he has neurological problems, my question

is, if I put our religious exemption in for him, without putting one

in for my other child who is in a private school (the school stated

in their handout that they will not accept religious exemptions),

will that be an issue? She is fully vaxed (I didn't know any better

back then), and she is already in the school and loves it.

HELP........

It might depend on the state. The private schools that my kids have gone to here

in CT state that they are just abiding by the law, therefore exemptions are

accepted. Whether they really have to or not is debatable. I think the way the

law is written they do, but others don't agree.

At any rate, a private school can send you packing for any reason, or refuse to

renew a contract. You can't make them take your child.

It must be very frustrating. Is this going to come up as a problem for next

year? What grade is your daughter in?

She is only in Kindergarten, but not good with change.  This is a problem

we are facing now.

Oh, I've got one of those. He's 13 now, and famous for change-related stomach

aches. It's better, though. At least he doesn't throw up before the new school

year any more.

Private schools only have to accept exemptions if they take state

money... then they have to abide by state law. If they don't take any

money from the state, they can refuse exemptions.

some say yes, some say no

some say if they receive any public money (no matter how small) at

all they have to go by it.

Do they receive money for a lunch program or school milk, as Sherri

Tenpenny says in her new book

" If they receive state funds - and are licensed by the state - they

are required to comply with state laws. "

Sherri Tenpenny says, if the facility is completely private,

investigate its policies. First, ask to see the bylaws and policies

requiring vaccination. Read the language carefully. The politely

ask to see the policy on discrimination. Have a meeting with the

administrator, suggesting that the existing policies disallowing your

right to refuse vaccines for your child may be discriminatory,

particularly if you are refusing vaccines on religious grounds.

Use the conversation as an education opportunity.........

A polite yet firm negotiation..........
