Guest guest
Hi! Welcome! I would fear the vaccine more than the disease. Studies are now showing that children are getting shingles from the chicken pox vaccine! This is something that always affected adults?! Also, I've heard of many, many children still getting the chicken pox after the vaccine/booster. I was fine with my vaccines as a child. Got a rubella vaccine last year at 34 years old and now my hearing is damaged. All it takes is one. My 28 year old sister-in-law received a CP vaccine last year and refused the booster. She's not even concerned (from Romania and never had the disease). She is more concerned about the vaccines than the disease now. I really wouldn't worry. Tetanus? Look at it this way....in the rare event that it does occur, it is treatable (my uncle recovered without vaccines or drugs). However, only be concerned if you live in the sticks and don't have a car. Useless vaccine that has a very high failure rate too I might add. > > I'm new here but have been lurking for a while. Guest guest
Hi -- Don't fret that your kids are partially vaxed -- so are mine. It took my DS having a severe allergic reaction to DPT for me to question vaccines. And yes I wish I'd been wise enough to question before -- oh well. As for chicken pox. I had it in my late teens and had no issues. Guest guest
Don't feel too bad. Many of us also vaxed ours before wising up. Good idea to send your stoic hubby to the docs, but eventually you will be confronted with this. It's difficult to not be bullied for many people, but mostly those who doubt their stance. I would say read more, get angry that they bullied you and know that the best way to avoid coming home from the peds with vaxed kids is not to go at all. Find a new alternative doc. Anyway, on the CP shot: another one WON'T be enough to last throughout adulthood, and doubtful it will work at all. Having one or a hundred isn't going to change that. Don't feel obligated to get another just because you got the first. It won't make the first one work. Why don't you want it and what is your reservation on the tetanus shot? Guest guest
> > Why don't you want it and what is your reservation on the tetanus shot? > > I am just starting to have reservations about ALL shots. I work so hard at getting just the best ingredients/materials for my children's bodies (organic, brst milk, raw milk, no bad plastic, ect.) but then they get injected (oops I accidentally wrote infected and not injected) directly into their blood stream these very bad chemicals. All the vaccines must have chemicals to preserve them, right? It is not making much sense to me. But then again I am considering a lifestyle in which I may not be close to a hospital and I may be traveling around, so possibly I may need to give my children some shot (tetanus?) I just don't know. I do waffle between " what's the harm, " and " tell me what's the point! " Plus I am starting to feel a bit scammed by the many times that I am supposed to go into the dr and pay my 20 bucks (plus what the insurance pays the dr). I have to go in for a camp physical, I have to go in for a school physical, I have to go in for various shots...each time there is something wrong with what I have done, what my child does, or there is some crazy advice I get (last thing was to start pulling the foreskin back or it will close up...no way I'm doing that to a 5 yr old!). So I am starting down a road of questioning a passive resistance I guess for now.
Guest guest
Okay, so this is somewhat new to you but you are putting it together. You are on the right track so keep asking questions. I would say on the tetanus to remember that if you got tetanus naturally you wouldn't be immune from it in the future so don't expect a vaccine for it to provide immunity, either. If you get yourself educated about natural meds, and carry around an arsenal the way I do, you should be fine. Get yourself a nice stock of homepathic meds, some hydrogen peroxide, vitamins and a vaporizer and you're pretty well set. I understand about the waffling between what's the harm and what's the point. We know the point it to keep kids healthy, no matter which side you're on, but the harm with vaxing is that they are not guaranteed to work and they have very serious side effects, including death. You take on that risk immediately when you vaccinate. You do NOT take on the immediate risk of side effects from all diseases when you don't vax. You ARE being scammed with these physicals. I can understand them wanting to know your child can withstand physical activities for sports, or if there is a medical condition they have to give meds for. But the main reason is to pressure you to vaccinate, no doubt about it. And you are right not to let them mess with the foreskin. I had a doc once pull my son's down (he'd been circumcised but not a lot and there was some closing up) and it made no difference except to cause him a lot of pain. I never let anyone touch him again and he's 16 now and tells me he's fine, please stop asking me these embarrassing questions, Mom... Anyway, keep on researching and you will become more confident about your decisions. Guest guest
Thanks for the link and info. This really helps build my arsenal of knowledge! I was taught that these diseases that the vaccines protect us from were all so horrible. But then they brought out the chicken pox vaccine, and I know that this one is so benign. At least that is what I was taught. Now that they have the vaccine they are teaching us that it is so horrible. Very suspicious! I also always wondered how, if you had to keep getting the tetanus shot all the time, could you insure that you are " safe " before that fateful moment when you get infected. It seemed sort of like luck to me.
