When is the interview? Since she is a friend, would she be willing to

let you have the questions she will ask ahead of time, so that you

have time to fully prepare your answers? Tell her this is such an

important issue to you that you really want to be a thorough as the

small time frame of the interview will allow.

Good luck to you, what an opportunity!

That is really good advice . And you are right, this is a tremendous

opportunity for you! What you have to say within the interview might be

what other mothers (and fathers) need/want to hear, who may be on the edge

of the decision and open to being swayed by either the doctor (into

vaccinating because of the fear-mongering) or someone such as you (who will

provide sound information and ease their fears of disease, and increase

awareness of vaccine dangers).

Could you give the information with out using your name?

I was just interviewed by our local paper, but told her I did not

want my vax status revealed (because we have already dealt with

CPS).....and then she ended up not using my info anyway so it was

fine.

Could she just use your info but keep your name and other details

private? Like instead of your name...just use " a local unvaccinating

mother " .

It's so sad that we have to think about these kinds of things when WE

are the ones that are doing what is right and healthy.

That means the other hafe were vaccinated.

Which proves what?

Jim

a friend wants to interview me re: measles vax and not

vaccinating!

I am freaking out. A friend of mine who works for a local news

station just called and wants to interview me about not vaccinating.

I am so afraid of being misconstrued in the interview. I know, I need

to stick to the facts and not let emotion into it. Any pointers? Any

hard facts with government sources I can use? SHould I do this?

From what I just read on the loop, the measles " outbreak " is about 130

people with measles and 63 of those are not vaccinated.

Should I mention the idea that this is probably Merck's push to scare

people into vaccinating since Gardisil is getting so much negative

press? (As mentioned in the other post re: NVIC)

Argh! I don't want to say no to this, but at the same time, I don't

know if I want to " expose " myself about the issue.

Help, please!!

Hi there... I just did it. It went well. They were surprised I

had notes! I held my own and it was a very friendly interview. I

know she won't skew anything. She let me repeat sound bites I

wanted to be clear on and if I said something " good " she sometimes

asked me to repeat them for clarity so they would fit the story. I

kept the emotion out of it, but did say, you know parents are

scared - instead of trying to scare parents INTO vaccinating, the

makers should be doing legitimate studies that prove they are not

the cause of all these illnesses.

I pointed out that LESS THAN HALF the 131 people with measles are

unvaccinated, so what does that say about the efficacy of the

vaccine? In the same sentence I mentioned that we have over 300

million people in this country.

I mentioned the dog food scare last year and why the hell did they

figure out the cause of that so quickly, but they can't figure out

what is damaging so many of our children.

I mentioned that lead was in paint for 80 years, the the Dutchboy

was created to show how safe and cute the paint was, but after

enough parental concern, the finally took the lead out.

I talked about ingredients - chicken embryonic fluid, hydrolized

gelatin, sorbitol, neomycin and cells from aborted human fetuses -

are in the Merck measles vaccine - those ingredients weren't left

out of our bodies by mistake. They certainly don't create health.

I spoke about how Ohio has all three expemptions and that indeed we

do NOT need to vaccinate to get into school.

I mentioned that there never was mercury in the MMR, but that there

is still mercury in most of the vaccines children recieve that

originally had mercury - in trace amounts.

I'm sure there was more! It was an easy discussion.

For those of you in Cleveland, it'll be on Channel 19 at 11:00 and

channel 43 at 10:00.

I think that is just fantastic of you! Pat yourself on the back ,

sounds like you provided good information. If there's a link online (to the

local stations), send it out so we can see it!

That's great, but I can understand your nervousness. Do NOT say anything you

cannot prove, such as vaccines don't work or herd immunity is a myth. You can

say you're not convinced about them, if that's what you think.

Speak from the heart, write down your main points ahead of time (and limit it to

three) and unless you have piles of statistics and studies in front of you and

can whiz through them at a moments notice, don't try to remember them.

I would not get into the vaccine issues in the news unless they are what

convinced you not to vaccinate (and I hope that's not true).

Parents should not be expected to have a degree in immunology or be a doctor to

make informed decisions so defend your right to do so if it comes up.

Think of questions they would ask and be prepared. The one I would be most

prepared for is the herd immunity one. That's the one the vaccine pushers always

fall back on.

Good luck!

You should be so proud of yourself. I sure am!

Hey, I just found your interview. Not sure if anyone else sent this on--I'm way

behind on emails:

Nice job! Absolutely wonderful presentation of a concerned, intelligent parent.
