Allergy testing and epi-pen

My family is taking the religous excemption for all further

vaccinations. One question I have is though is about skin allergy

testing and the epi-pen.

My son has had skin allergy testing done the past 2 years and is

scheduled again for August (for egg). The first year he tested

positive for nuts (almonds specifically) and eggs. Because of this,

we must carry around an epi-pen in case he would have a anaphalacitc

(sp?) reaction and require epi. The second year nuts came back

negative (YEH!!!) but the eggs were still there.

We have signed forms for Caden and Emma which state the following in

it: " This written statement to exempt our child from any

immunizations, TB testing, and other shots/injections, because we

hold genuine and sincere personal religious beliefs which are

inconsistent with these medical procedures and experimentation. The

practice of vaccination and the injection of any foreign substances

is contrary to our conscientiously held religious beliefs and

practices, and violates the free exercise of our religious

principles. "

We would still like him to tested for egg allergy again for 3 reasons.

For 1, we are avoiding eggs like the plague and it would be great for

hijm to be allowed to have products with egg on occasion (mainly like

parties) and for 2, I beleive the epi-pen would fall under the " other

shots/injections " section.

Would that contridict the paragraph above?

I have thought about adding a line specifically for the epi-pen.

Something to the effect of " and other shots/injections (unless life

saving medication is needed for an allergic reacion, ie Epi-pen)

And for 3, if he is no longer allergic to eggs we do not even have to

address the epi-pen.

But as for the allergy testing, we are " testing " him for the allergy

with a foreign substance pressed into the skin. Which also I beleive

contridicts the above. One solution would be to have them take blood

and test that way but is it less reliable correct?

Thanks for any insite!
