DubyLitvin.blogspot.com Re: vaccines & ear infections - babycenter My son who's not vaxed has never had an ear infection and he's nine months. Thought he was close some times with teething and grabbing his ear but when the doc checked him out the ear drums weren't even red. Can you post on that sight?? Maybe some anti-vax info. haha ~doris
Guest guest
My dd Peanut is 3 and ½, completely unvaxed (born safely at home, unassisted, never been to an MD (“Mentally Deficient”, if you ask me) – only to our chiro), and she has *never* had an ear infection! She always teethed really mildly, too, except for her first two teeth which came in together on a trip from Southern California to Northern California by ourselves, so she couldn’t easily get out an nurse to soothe herself. That was a fun trip – NOT! But she almost never gets sick, and, when she does, it is over and done very quickly. Extended breastfeeding and not vaxing are the only way to go! (She stopped nursing about a month ago, except for the occasional “snack”.) Guest guest
Same here. No ear infections until after my son's MMR at 15 months--then beginning 10 days later he was plagued for years with allergies/asthma, only resolved after fleeing from the peds. An absolute nightmare. And he was one of the lucky ones. Winnie Re: vaccines & ear infections - babycenter Vaccinations > Yep! Guest guest
That's great and I encourage you to keep up the " snacking " for as long as possible. There's nothing like breastmilk for a sick child who can't hold food down and needs to be comforted at the same time. Guest guest
Yep! My son never had an ear infection until a month after his MMR, Chicken Pox, Flu, and several others all in the same day at 12 months. -- Even when I was vaxxing, I was always late b/c I never made the app't on time..but 3+.. " and several others " .:::jaw drop::: have I been out of the vaccine scene that long? I don't recall how many but holy cow. and they think this is helpful? And good??? Are they nuts? How would you know what the kid reacts to, with so many? I don't read BabyCenter crap either for this reason. I just wouldn't have a tongue left to eat with! Guest guest
Oh, the " older sibling syndrome. " If it was colds, though, we're talking viruses. Did he get antibiotics? Guest guest
What I'm wondering is if it was truly an infection since colds are caused by viruses. You still get fevers with viruses. The eardrums can be red from that, not necessarily from a bacterial infection. I never, never once had a ped check to see if my son's " ear infections " were caused by a bacteria. They automatically prescribed antibiotics if the ear was red, assuming an infection.
