Guest guest
I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I've been trying to do some research about what vaccines I want to give to him. I've already made some decisions about certain vax'es that I will either delay or skip but the Pc vax is one of the few that I'm still unsure of (Along with DTaP and HIB, in case anyone wants to give advice on those as well). I know the aluminum content and the side effects of the vaccine are quite un-nerving but the disease itself is also very serious and relatively common, which is why I'm having a hard time with this decision. What are you doing with regards to this vaccine and how did you come to your conclusion? I should also add that I go overseas quite often and will most likely be going to Qatar (a gulf state) in September, when my baby is between 4 & 5 months old. I've checked the CDC website for Qatar and it basically just recommends being up-to-date on all normally scheduled vaccines, which doesn't help much with my decision on Prevnar, DTaP or HIB.
