Since diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis are all bacterial in nature

(am I correct here?) having them once doesn't provide lifelong

immunity? I know that is true with tetanus, but how about the other

2? And Hib as well, I understand it is not the Hib that is the

danger, but the meningitis that may develop - is meningitis bacterial

and therefore able to be contracted more than once? Also, how does

the CDC justify these shots if the actual infection itself doesn't

provide immunity? I am curious to know their stand and how they

explain how the vaccine works - I cannot find the description in any

of my readings so far. I know that the vaccines are dangerous, but to

educate myself I would like to know how the government is convincing

people to get them, so any info anyone might have would definitely

further my understanding.

Thanks!
