When I treated a kitten with cold symptoms only using homeopathy, he did go thru stages. I think it's normal. I think the homeopathy makes each stage go quicker and easier. I believe that in some cases the body needs to go through something rather than have it aborted at the onset. It's an individual thing and probably depends on the moment and that immune system's condition at the time. You did good, whether your in-laws want to believe it or not. I live with my pill-popping Dad, so I know just how you feel. 10-20 pills each day, with about 70% of them being prescription meds. Ugh! Bobbett PS I find cold generally don't have an instant cure with homeopathy unless caught really, really early. More severe illnesses (like flu) seem to react quicker to homeopathy and last a shorter priod of time.

I try to catch colds the very first day they start to make an appearance and generally, we’re able to avoid them but sometimes I can’t get to them that quick and it takes longer for the cold to go away. Despite my mom’s amazed ‘heartburn gone away that fast” experience, she’s still very allopathic. Going to the doctor quite often. Comes over, gets heartburn, asks if I have anything, I say yes. I get my kit and she’s still “no I mean do you have anything that works fast”…. Or good.. or whatever.. for a couple of times when we didn’t remedy right. :::sigh::: Nita, Mom to: 14, Jon 13, 10, 8, 6, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 2 and Isaac due Feb. 08 Learn from the mistakes of others. Guest guest
thanks ladies, you did clarify my concerns, and it helps a lot to learn that they are walking chemical bombs, relying on medicine for life. I understand what was happening for my MIL, her body was doing it's best to rid her of the injected poisons and what ever outside disease had also entered to plague her. It's real disappointing to hear them say things like " Polio was so terrifying, I lived with friends that were in iron lungs, you must vaccinate your self and your child " and my FIL believes that vaccinations are good because they expose you to illness constantly, so there fore you are tougher living with them, when they strike you, you will have a better chance of survival than if you were not exposed at all. I understand what he is trying to say, it's just sad to hear an educated man (a well known physicist) say such dumb ass stuff. Guest guest
Hi Marica, My in-laws were here for a week, my father in law arrived with a cold, he was willing to try Homeopathic remedies, ad was pretty quickly well again after a day. The next day, the Mother in-law caught the cold, she did not respond so well to the remedies, I kept Following her symptoms and as they changed, gave her a new remedy, the cold progressed From general malaise to A dry cough, to a cough with hoarse voice, chills, and then the Nose started running. We did not get a " cure " from the remedies from her. She had just Finished a dose of antibiotics for a previous influenza that did not cure properly and Resulted in infection. My Husband caught a cold as well, he is purely treated with homeopathic medicines, and He never gets sick. He responded well to the first round of remedies for two days, the cold Did not get past a headache and some malaise. Two days later he developed a headache, And his nose started to run. I just gave him a remedy for it, They left the house this morning to go home, and My father in law announced that the Remedies did nothing to help anyone get well from the colds. He thinks that his cold just Went away on it's own, seeing his wife not make a recovery has convinced him that these Medicines do nothing. They are the typical orthodox medicine users, they have pills to Keep them going, I'm alarmed at how many pills they take daily. The Questions I have are; Did I prescribe the wrong remedies for the acute situation? ***Quite possibly - unless the symptom picture is very clear, it is easy to prescribe wrongly for something as vague as a cold. IMHO, that is. Should I have got a recovery from every-one? ***Not necessarily. To me, a cold is not always a bad thing - but more often a sign of a body trying to eliminate something all on its own. A bit of Spring Cleaning " , if you like. I personally don't treat for colds unless the patient is *stuck* or not handling it well and it is causing great distress. I think colds, like most fevers, are best just left to run their course. From the training material I have, and from the homeopathic texts I've read, intervening when the body is doing its business, or changing remedies constantly, amounts to suppression and that is not good. It can end up complicating the original picture, or stirring up something miasmic that can aggravate even further. I understand that the remedy's don't cure you, they just help your body Cure it self. Is it " normal " for the cold/influenza to go through the 4/5 stages even with The correct homeopathic remedy's? I know the symptoms are the dead soldiers from the Fight. ***I have always found that colds go through *stages*. First the general malaise, the sore throat, then the sneezing and streaming, then possibly the dry cough followed by productive cough. I think I would only treat if the latter was a big problem. Guest guest
Colds are best to treat right at the very beginning. If you wait till there are full blown symptoms, it will take a few days to get rid of it. A good virus killing homeopathic mix for colds is Euphorbium comp. by Heel. It can be sprayed either in the nose or on the tongue. Works either way. I know many of you are not into the mixtures but for acute situations they are excellent and easy for beginners to use since there is no guesswork. It takes years to get really good at homeopathy and if you're not planning on being a practitioner the mixes are fine for first aid and home use. I actually repaired my nasal tissue with the Euphorbium comp and have never had a problem with sinuses since and that was about 8 years ago. I used it once a day for five weeks. In Europe it is pretty standard for doctors and practitioners to use combination remedies and they are believed to work synergistically.
