Guest guest
This isn't about vaccinations, but it just shows how messed up the CDC really is. My daughter in kindergarden had a note from school that someone in her school had MRSA, the anti-biotic resistent staph infection popping up in schools across the country. I was pretty upset that we weren't told about this until the child was back in school. The school sent no information during the outbreak and there was no way of knowing when this had even happened (I have since found out it was last week) Anyhow, after researching MRSA I found some interesting information about why we weren't notified. According to the CDC guidelines, MRSA is not a notifiable disease! This infection is hard to irradicate and will kill more people than AIDS this year, yet there's no reason to tell the parents that their child has been exposed to it? Heck, the parents of an infected child don't even have to tell the school that their child has it! Also, the CDC doesn't understand why there has been an increase in the number of MRSA infections. Gee, could it have anything to do with their recommendation that an infected child be encouraged to attend school unless the wound can't be covered with a bandage? Everyone knows how long band-aids remain on little arms and legs...not very long. It just baffles me that a kid with chicken pox is made to stay home for a couple of weeks, but a kid with MRSA is encouraged to attend school. How messed up is that? I was very panicked yesterday, but I'm hopeful we are nearing the end of the incubation period and my daughter will be safe. Talk about ruining our Christmas vacation. Sorry for the rant, but I just thought I'd expose yet another illogical 'guideline' set forth by the CDC.
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing that information about MRSA NOT being a notifiable disease. It's funny because my boy's pediatrician said that MRSA is nothing new (we know that), and that the media is going crazy with it for some reason. MRSA threats have taken the place of Bird Flu threats this year. They've got to scare us with something! Oh, not to worry and let it ruin you're Christmas; MRSA may be antibiotic resistant, but it's not resistant to homeopathy. ;~)..........Anita peebster1 <peebster1@...> wrote: This isn't about vaccinations, but it just shows how messed up the CDC really is. Guest guest
The CDC is full of baloney most of the time, I'll agree. However, MRSA is present in the nasal passages of most people most of the time. It becomes a problem only when the immune system is compromised or weakened. You don't have to touch an open sore to get MRSA, its all around, all the time. The schools that did the never- ending sanitizing of classrooms and locker rooms reported that MRSA was still in the classrooms time and time again, after daily sanitizing. People carry this bacteria with them. You can't eradicate it. The best defense is a STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM, not bandaids, Purell, Lysol, or antibiotics.
