And not on insulin!!!!.. yet anyway. I have to be a VERY good girl and

try to keep my sugars under 200.. in the under 150's, if I can manage it

and he'll be happy.

If they go over 200 or even close, on a consistent basis, I'll be on

insulin.

The diabetes lady came and showed us a video and gave me a sugar monitor

and gave me a diet and I have to watch my carbs like a hawk.--- (such an

evil thing at Christmas!! My favorite pumpkin cheesecake from cheesecake

factory? 39 carbs in ONE serving!! The dark chocolate rocko Ferrari

chocolates.. that's what I call them b/c I can never spell it and never

say it.. 17 g. of carbs for ONE Little ball...oh man!!! ::sigh::: 9 more

weeks to go. I can do this for 9 weeks! I can do this for 9 weeks.)

So there I go. He wants me to check my sugars 2 hours after every meal

and then call him Monday with my log and he'll decide if I might need

long acting insulin or not or just keep on diet.

*I* think this *could* have all been done via outpatient but oh well.

It's done now.. however, after a very boring day in the hospital...it

really could have been! He could have sent me over there for a diet and

education and monitor.. though at the hospital, it was easier to not do

any 'cheating' on the diet..which is probably why he wanted me

admitted....easier to know for sure what I'm eating and the portions.

The lab work could have been done separately too.

But I'm home now and it's nap time!! I kept waking up a lot last

night... they left me alone after 11 pm vitals check but dh was squished

on the bed with me so that might have done it.
