Guest guest
You are absolutely right. Actually, before I knew anything about vaccines (and this is pobably what most others believe,) I too thought they were mandatory and really, never heard about anyone not vaccinating. Also, I thought that the vaccine preventable diseases were close to 100% fatal. My sister tells everyone that I don't vaccinate my son and she says people are just surprised to hear that, they can't understand why I wouldn't want to, completely unaware of vaccine injury and the fact that you can be healthy (healthier probably) without them. > > Hi all, > > This discussion on the college in Mass that is kicking up a stink and > the reply about Mavis who has not vaccinated for 22 years has gotten me > thinking that so often, we concentrate so hard on vaccine injuries, we > totally ignore the very healthy unvaccinated kids around us. Guest guest
I think it's a great idea - the truth really does end any struggle most people are even having. My daughter is 15 months, unvaccinated, and the healthiest kid I know. Twice last week, I sat in two different rooms with friends and their children. One is a day care mom, 5 kids ages 6 months -6 years, 4 of them with colds or the chicken pox. Later that weekend with my friends and thier own kids, 3 of them, 14 months, 2, and 27 months, all with colds and runny noses and ear infections. Both places I was debating with them over vaccines, and I couldn't get them to understand how vaccinated could be bad for their immune system. No matter what I said, I was wrong, but later that night, my husband (who has been on board from the beginning, but trusted my research and hasn't done any of his own) noted that our daughter was the only kid we had seen all day that didn't have a runny nose, or a rash, or an ear infection. She's never been sick, never had a fever, and she's been around my husband and I while we were sick. I'd say that's a pretty good immune system. Who can argue with proof?? I'm not saying she'll never get sick, but she's been exposed, and has yet to actually come down with anything. Unfortunately, I do not know any adults personally that are vax free, or even older kids. We'll see how she does! : ) Re: Healthy unvaccinated children That is a great idea! Guest guest
My daughter is 7 months old, completely unvaccinated and she is the healthiest kid I know as well. Both my husband and myself have been sick around her as well as family members and friends and she has not even gotten so much as the sniffles. She has never had a fever or diaper rash or anything. My family and my husbands family are all telling me I'm crazy not to vaccinate. That I am being irresponsible and leaving her susceptible to an array of fatal diseases but I've done my research and she is healthy so why jeopardize that with potentially harmful vaccines? Guest guest
Same with my 7 month old son. Perfectly healthy and strong. Never has had a fever or the sniffles or diarrhea. Has been sitting up on his own for more than a month, has been rolling over on his own since 4 months, and is already crawling. So right, why ruin a good thing. I do believe that vaccines destroy the immune system, so I do believe he will always be healthier than if he were loaded with vaccines. > > My daughter is 7 months old, completely unvaccinated and she is the healthiest kid I know as well. Guest guest
You sound like me, Vida. I had never given vaccinating much thought before I had kids and the first 10 years of their lives. I just thought everyone vaccinated because that was the thing to do. I can give a testimony from the opposite end of the scale (healthy unvaxed kids). My kids were born in 1989 and 1991. They didn't start getting vaccines until 2 months back then, and there were quite a few less vaccines then, too. It was still enough to do damage, though. Their motor skills were advanced (sitting and crawling at 5 months, walking at 8 and 9 months, etc.), but their physical health was awful. My dd had 3 fevers, colds/ear infections her first year of life and was very sick with colds, fevers, coughs, etc. the first 10 years of her life. My ds had 9 illnesses (fevers, colds/ear infections, bronchiolitis, gastroenteritis, roseola, etc.) his first year, and end up with tubes in his ears at 19 months. He, too, continued to be very sick until we stopped vaccinating and stopped going to an allopathic doctor. They were both ALWAYS on antibiotics and cold medicine. Sure do wish I knew then what I know now!! Kay Re: Healthy unvaccinated children > You are absolutely right. Guest guest
Meryl, I will PM you, but wanted to add to the discussion. Jack has had one vaccine, the Hib, starting at 7 months. We have chosen to not vaccinate for anything else. He's had plenty of colds - 7 by my count. No ear infections. He has a cough lingering from this last cold, though. Anyway... I know he's healthier than the other kids in his playgroup. One family, OY! The family of 5 - 2 parents, 13yo, 7yo, 2yo - all got flu shots. Mom said that they had to because oldest boy has asthma. They have been sick constantly since! They all got the flu, then a week later, they all got strep throat. It is taking all of my willpower to not say to this woman - good thing you got the flu shot! I'm not one to put all behaviors down to vaccination status. That is, just because a child who has been vaxxed exhibits an undesirable trait, does not mean that the behavior was caused by the vax. And the reverse is also true - just because an unvaxxed child exhibits a good quality, doesn't mean that the quality is caused by the lack of vaxes. But, just today, I've had this thought: My son is 22 months, and has the vocabulary of a 4 yo. The 24 month milestone charts say that he should have between 20 and 50 words. He certainly has more than 100. He says words, and he knows what they mean. He comprehends what we are reading to him. He says his ABCs and counts to 10. One of the girls in playgroup (the one of the flu shot family) is also very bright, and a bit ahead of the curve. But the rest of the kids are actually behind in their language acquisition skills. Just today, I was thinking if that could be due to vaccines. I don't want to blame vaccines for all the ills of the world, but, is it possible that all that extra junk is impeding their mental progress? It's just a thought. ~Robyn Meryl Dorey wrote: > > That's what I think too and that's why I would really appreciate anyone > sending me (by private email) their healthy, unvaccinated children's > stories to put up on the AVN's website. > > Take care J > > Meryl > > From: Vaccinations > <mailto:Vaccinations%40> > [mailto:Vaccinations > <mailto:Vaccinations%40>] > On Behalf Of denielle maragnano > Sent: 27 November 2007 5:46 AM > Vaccinations <mailto:Vaccinations%40> > Subject: Re: Healthy unvaccinated children > > I wish there was a website that showed healthy unvaccinated success > stories. Guest guest
22 months and over 100 words?! Counts to 10…. Wow. I want to cry. We went to a community forum for autism awareness yesterday. The general consensus of opinion is this town sucks for trying to get help with your autistic child. Isn’t that just grand?! (not) Our ped. Told us “they don’t do under 5. call these people” gave me some names. One of them is a clinical psychologist. She “does 2 y.o.’s” but she gets us started. So I called yesterday after the forum and asked ‘well why is it only getting started? Is it b/c it takes more sessions or b/c she’s not experienced with so young?” I don’t want to waste my time here. One mom had to sue the school board to get any services b/c they kept telling her her child was “just fine” and she knew better. One lady there is a special ed teacher from GA and moved to AL and was astonished at what is offered and moreso, rather what is NOT offered. has had absolutely no vaccine at all and he’s very healthy. He’s had a few colds. He did have one febrile seizure..at least, that is what his doctor said it was. No ear infections. No flu. No formula. Just barely getting weaned. No daycare. He’s very smart. You can see that but he’s not verbal at all yet except for a few random sounds. ’s always been really healthy too and he’s completely unvaxxed. Just some colds. I think flu when he was a baby but daddy had the flu too. The other kids have been healthy but was my only formula baby and she was sick more than the others. She nursed until 9 months. From 4 to 9 months, only would nurse at night. She had a few ear infections. She had one about 4 years ago too. I don’t think it’s strictly vaccines that make them unhealthy and I don’t believe vaccines make one healthy either. Guest guest
My two kids are also very healthy. I say that as my 7 year is just coming off the flu, but when I decided to stop vaxxing them, I didn't expect they'd never get sick. His flu consisted of a headache, extreme fatigue and a sore throat. It lasted a day and then it was gone the next morning. That is the first time he's been sick since I can remember. He was fully vaccinated as a baby, but not since. My younger son (4.5 years) who has not been vaccinated at all has not gotten this flu (as of yet) nor does he really get anything else. He just doesn't get sick and if he does, the only word I can put on it is the " sniffles " because he never really gets full blown sick. Both kids, ages 7 and 4.5, have never had strep throat or an ear infection and my youngest has never been on a course of antibiotics and my older son was on one course for fluid in his ear that might have become infected (that was before I knew better). The doctors also wanted to put tubes in his ears and when I said no, I was verbally abused by the doctor. They're extremely healthy and nobody believes me when I say they've not been on the requisite gazillion courses of antibiotics, have not had strep, not had an ear infections and rarely get sick. This is despite being around those who are sick and playing regularly (at least 3x/week) at an indoor playground, which we all know is just a giant petri dish. This sounds strange, but I'm glad when they get sick. This recent bought with the flu gave us a chance to talk about what was going on in his body. He asked why he got sick and that launched us into a discussion about viruses, what they do in the body and how his body was on top of the situation. He also asked why he felt so cold so we got a chance to talk about fevers and why they're a very good thing and why it's important to let them do their thing. The next day he woke up feeling fine and said " My body did it! It killed the virus! " YAY for having faith in your body!! Roni
Guest guest
I don't know what I was vaxxed for as a child, I was born in Italy in 1978 so am not sure on their vax schedule at the time and then don't know what they did to me when I came here. Anyways, I suffered from severe ear infections as a child. They were so painful and I would get fevers up to 105 and once even went to the hospital. I pray my son does not have to go through that too. When I was 13 I got a tetanus shot because I was riding my bike and crashed with a rusted fence. When I was 16 there was a two year period when I was again living in Italy and some sewage line broke into the main water lines so they vaccinated the whole town against hepatitis A and typhoid. I remember shortly after I had to get glasses because of really bad astigmatism, although I recall that before that my vision was pretty good (so I thought anyways, is probably completely unrelated.) I think of course there are many factors in health, including luck However, I cannot believe that viruses, bacteria, animal DNA, toxins, and heavy metals injeted into a child can be in any way healthy. So although there are healthy and unhealthy vaccinated or unvaccinated children, I do think on the individual level that a child will always be healthier unvaccinated than if they had gotten all hundred recommended vaccines. I also think that as a child it is too soon to really see this, the whole life must be looked at. > > My two kids are also very healthy.
