Guest guest
Sorry wrote that when I was way too tired. I did not mean to suggest that Einstein fathered quantum mechanics. In fact Einstein hated the idea of quantum mechanics (and hence his famous quote " God does not play dice " ) – but his revolutionary idea i.e. that light can consist of either a particle or a wave, aka the photoelectric effect, challenged Newtonian physics and influenced many scientists thereafter, thereby changing the Newtonian paradigm of physics (and it was thanks to Einstein that Heisenburg was able to develop his theory of the uncertainty principle which had a great influence on the way we view the position and movement of the electron within the atom, so in a way Heisenburg was the father of quantum mechanics).
