Guest guest
Brilliant ! Thank you! Sheri http://www.rescuepost.com/rescue_post/2007/09/giving-cdc-dysf.html September 23, 2007 Giving CDC Dysfunction the “Dr. Phil” Treatment by Hokkanen For parents of children injured by vaccines, one logical followup to McCarthy’s appearance on “Oprah” would be putting representatives from the CDC on the Dr. Phil show. Because, as Dr. Phil says, you can’t fix a problem if you don’t acknowledge it first. How can the CDC fine-tune the quality of vaccines if the agency doesn't investigate parents' honest reports of their children's adverse reactions to shots? Here’s what happens instead: • The busy family physician is unfamiliar with symptoms of vaccine injury, or takes emotional and financial refuge in denial. • The child’s injury report is rarely filed with the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) and vulnerabilities are not studied -- other than warnings for people allergic to eggs. • A case filed with the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) takes 5-10 years to resolve, or more often than not is denied or thrown out. • The overwhelmed family struggles to find and fund biological treatments that are not studied or acknowledged by traditional medical trade organizations. My mind can easily visualize Dr. Phil’s reflexive sneer and hear his stentorian tone declaring, “That’s just plain wrong.” Parent after parent tells a similar version of the same story. Their child receives the MMR shot, or several shots together, or a mercury-laden dose, and within hours or days that child’s spirit and health fade away. To most researchers, these reports are considered empirical observations. To some CDC bureaucrats and vaccine profiteers, these are dismissed pejoratively as “anecdotes” or “stories.” Here’s where I picture Dr. Phil popping in with an anecdote of his own. “So you’re telling me that if I’m watching a storm outside and I see a tornado and try to warn you that it’s coming your way, you aren’t going to believe me?” He’d finish off with his trademark eye-roll of utter disgust. Really, it’s not a huge stretch for the tall Texan to tackle the hypocrisy surrounding vaccine injuries. Dr. Phil has a beautiful blonde daughter-in-law, who like McCarthy is a former Playboy model. Should she become pregnant, this public health issue would soon become very, very personal… he’d “have a dog in the fight.” He has his crony Dr. Lawliss on the show talking about children’s ADHD linked to heavy metals toxicity. For a moment, let’s strip away the emotional component that usually overwhelms vaccine injury debate. Strictly from the perspective of a capitalist marketing model, the CDC fails miserably. Textbooks teach that the customer is always right. Negative feedback from dissatisfied customers travels quickly and cuts sales. Any other product sold in America comes with some kind of warranty, exchange or return policy. Imagine bringing your car in for warranty work but instead the salesman refuses. His inaction intimates that you are being untruthful. He states cavalierly, “It’s not broken, it’s just quirky.” Or, “there is no increased incidence of rollovers.” If Dr. Phil ran the CDC, he would sympathize with parents and say, “You need to listen to your body because your body is listening to you.” But perversely, the CDC has no provision for medical treatment badly needed by children injured by the vaccines it sells. When Dick Cheney filled his friend’s face full of shotgun pellets, his victim could reasonably expect that the shooter would foot the bill for medical costs. But when our children are shot full of mercury, or receive more shots of vaccine than their immune systems can handle, they are sent home where panicked parents scavenge Internet information that may help, or might harm the child further. Thankfully a few bright healing lights have shone on families, independent of taxpayer or pharmaceutical funding. For years the Autism Research Institute (ARI) and National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) have sounded the alarm about vaccine injury, though the powers that be refused to listen. ARI and NVIC have provided information that has helped countless families prevent further vaccine injury, and receive medical treatments to mitigate the physical damage. Local and national advocacy groups like ARI and NVIC should be formally recognized as a national clearinghouse providing help that improves the lives of ill children. Further, these organizations deserve federal funding to improve the services they deliver with such success in absence of current taxpayer-funded versions. Picture for a moment a CDC bureaucrat sitting on Dr. Phil’s couch, and hear his signature drawl as he starts the questioning: “I’ve got a PhD, you know; I read peer-reviewed studies. I didn't just ride in on a load of turnips.” “So, when a parent comes to your agency and says that their child got sick right after being vaccinated, you help them, right? After all, you’re the Center for DISEASE CONTROL.” “So what’s the CDC’s policy, anyway? You call that parent a liar, that’s what you do. Well, how’s that workin’ for ya?” Then Dr. Phil would flash his bullet-point suggestions for improvement on a Jumbotron screen, because, as any regular viewer knows, awareness without action is worthless. • The child’s injury report is PROMPTLY filed with the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS). • Children’s vaccine injuries are analyzed by independent research agencies to detect genetic susceptibilities and thus prevent further injury. • Cases filed with the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) are settled promptly so families can fund early intervention. • Families receive support services such as behavioral therapies, therapeutic equipment, nutritional supplements and respite. • The ACIP committee restructures the vaccine schedule with fewer vaccines administered separately at a later age. • Public health administrators with financial conflicts of interest are removed from all vaccine policymaking institutions. Across America, parents would jump out of their easy chairs cheering. This would truly be a changing day in their lives… and in the lives of children for generations to come. Let’s do it. Hokkanen lives in Minnesota with her husband and their 9-year-old son, whose 2002 autism diagnosis spurred study of mercury toxicity and vaccine safety. She is a member of A-CHAMP, a Generation Rescue advocate, and volunteers for the Minnesota Natural Health Coalition. Guest guest
Add to this--clinics are set up all across America to detoxify poisoned kids using the best protocol. Also--independent testing labs are put in place to test all vaccines to make sure that they are safe, and contain what they say they do. Every ingredient is analyzed for necessity and safety, both alone and in combination with the rest of the ingredients. Long-term safety studies are done and verified by those without financial interests in the outcome.
