The following double standard has come to light as a result of work on a

legal case I am involved in.

In the UK cervical cancer kills twice the number annually compared to

alleged AIDS deaths. It is claimed to be caused by the sexually transmitted

human papillomavirus (HPV). The victims are of course women and not men.

With alleged HIV the victims are perceived to be gay and black africans.

The number of UK deaths each year allegedly caused by AIDS has hovered

around 500 since 1998 [1]. There were 1061 deaths from cervical cancer in

the UK in 2005 [2].

So, ask yourself " why did the drug companies not develop an HPV test many

years ago? " . You might also ask why did the World Health Organisation not

make vastly more effort regarding cervical cancer compared to AIDS?

Instead, there have been no massive worldwide fear campaigns as there have

been with AIDS. After many many years, Merck has developed Gardasil, a

vaccine alleged to be effective against HPV. It is a vaccine for the female

population. Its launch and recommended use on young girls has courted

controversy and the dangers and adverse drug reactions to the vaccine are

being ignored [3] - as is commonplace for all vaccines. The cost of the

vaccine is vastly in excess of what the third world can afford. Gardasil is

available in the UK for ?350 for the complete course of 3 vaccinations given

over six months. [4] So we are happy for vastly more women in the third

world to die from HPV than those of all sexes alleged to die from AIDS.

There are no fear campaigns about HPV as there are for AIDS, a substantially

smaller problem according to UK figures.

There will come a point in what follows when you will laugh, despite the

seriousness, and I think that will be when the realisation dawns just how

bizarre the double-standards have become.

Background

There are tests for an alleged HI (Human Immunodeficiency) virus for which

there is no scientific proof of existence, although it is claimed there is

evidence to support the claim. It is alleged that by testing for the

existence of the allegedly existing HI virus antibodies, the existence of an

infection by the alleged HI virus can be demonstrated. There are

contradictions in such a claim, as the existence of antibodies is usually

taken to mean a past infection which the body has dealt with and can deal

with in future. However, put credulity to one side and continue.

It is also alleged that some (but not all) subjects with the alleged

antibodies to the alleged HI virus eventually (after many years, and some

never do) develop an immunity deficiency so severe that death ensues from

some other cause, which a healthy immune system would normally have no

difficulty combatting.

It is also the case that people who have tested allegedly positive using the

alleged HI virus tests are being imprisoned around the world for endangering

the lives of those they have consensual sex with, albeit without disclosing

their HI virus " positive " status.

The Parallel

Assume all the facts alleged above are true. Also assume human

papillomavirus (HPV) causes (triggers?) cervical cancer.

Now consider the position if there were an HPV test.

In 1995 there were 4.6 million smear tests and 80/100,000 are claimed to

have revealed in situ cervical cancer - that is about 3600 cases in one year

[2]. This of course does not deal with the likely much larger numbers

infected with HPV, nor does it deal with the likely larger numbers of men

carrying the virus, nor does it reveal the numbers of sexual encounters

required before an infection takes place in a previously uninfected partner.

Let us assume all men should be given the HPV test to prevent them passing

the virus to their sexual partners. That would mean in the region of 3600

men should now certainly be in gaol if we apply the same reasoning as for

AIDS, with 1061 responsible for causing death.

But it does not stop there. On the AIDS reasoning, every tested infected

man/male carrier would be guilty and could be in gaol, solely on the basis

of one sexual encounter without disclosure of the infected/carrier status.

Further, if such an HPV test existed, then would men not be recklessly

endangering life by not being tested?

Have you laughed yet?

And it is not even April Fools Day.

If you think I am being callous in mentioning laughter in such a context,

forgive me. I gave up getting angry about this kind of thing long ago.

This kind of stupidity seems to exist in large measure in the medical

profession, all governments and their " health " ministries and the

pharmaceutical industry. Only seeing the funny side will keep you sane.

Getting angry does not work.

Regards,

Clifford
