Guest guest
There's really not much to it, just don't! The only one required by law is the rabies and really all that's required is a piece of paper. Check out the Truth About Vaccines group for more information and support! http://pets./group/TruthAboutVaccines/ On 10/18/07, Anne <kacooster@...> wrote: > > I need help I do not want to vax my dog but I don't know how to go about > it. > If anyone can help or point me in the direction > Thanks > Anne > > > -- - The Future Mrs Foley! mblafay@... Guest guest
I worked at 2 different vets offices for a total of 8 years. I not only did not vaccinate any of my pets, but learned everything I could about all the dog and cat illnesses and diseases and challenged the vets on all their treatments and asked a lot of questions about the side effects of the vaccines. I actually got one of my vets to consider an every 3 year vaccine policy, which I'm sure he's abandoned by now once he figured out how much money his practice was losing. You are not required by law to vaccinate for anything besides rabies. I do not register my dogs with the town, but if you do you will have to show proof of rabies. Some towns accept vaccine titers to show they are still in the safe range, but others do not, you'll have to find out. But as far as the vet is concerned, they will try to sell you every vaccine possible, and you are not required to do any of them. Some vets will even give an exemption letter for kennels and groomers, but they usually will not require you to vax. If your vet does, find a new one! The amount of vaccines that puppies and kittens get in the beginning is ridiculous, and most are a series that you need multiple of. Most vets do this just to ensure you come back and spend money! I have seen MANY vaccine reations, especially when giving lyme, lyme with rabies, and I've seen dogs die from getting a bunch at once.... I have 6 dogs and since I stopped vaccinating I haven't been back to the vet at all in years - all of my dogs ailments cleared up and skin allergies went away, and I haven't needed to take them! I'm hoping the same will go for my daughter! : ) (OT) dog vax's I need help I do not want to vax my dog but I don't know how to go about it. If anyone can help or point me in the direction Thanks Anne __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I just didn't vaccinate. I have an 8 month old puppy who has only been vaccinated twice when she was 6 and 8 weeks old (I didn't get her until she was 8 weeks old) and not since. I never licensed her with the city so I have had no reason to provide proof that she's had her rabies. My older dog, who is 9, was licensed when he was a puppy, but I haven't renewed his license at all so I've had no need to prove he's had his rabies shot either. Both of my my dogs are housedogs and unless they get picked up by animal control, nobody is going to check on their rabies status. I have 8 cats and 2 dogs and I don't vaccinate any of my animals anymore. It's not worth the risk and the yearly vaccinations the veterinary community is still so entrenched in is so very dangerous to the animal. Guest guest
Thanks so much for sharing that . Certainly it will be same for your daughter. Generally, unvaccinated children from this list and the others I particpate in and my students and my patients, are the healthiest children I have ever seen.
