Guest guest
My Lyme disease test came back negative. Since my symptoms started 6 weeks ago with a large bite, identical to the last deer tick bite I experienced, I was hoping a quick course of antibiotics would end the ordeal. Kinda sad when you hope a test like that will be positive. But I'll still have another test done in a month or two, as false negatives are common with Lyme. One thing that HAS been a help to me is a skin formula I came across on bedbugger.com. I make a paste of 2-3 parts baking soda (plain old sodium bicarbonate) and aloe vera gel and apply it to the affected areas. The formula I saw used organic aloe vera gel. I tried the Whole Foods store but all of their products were loaded with fragrance, and I am allergic to most fragrances. Ironically I found the purest fragrance free gel at CVS in the sunscreen section: Aftersun for sunburns (Go figure). It has been the only thing that relieves the itching and shows reduced redness and irritation. Benadryl gel helps for a while but causes more irritation afterward.
