Guest guest
M., Thanks for the recommendation. I started using 's jojoba shampoo last month, and then switched to their tea tree variety. The tea tree has proven to be better than the jojoba (at least for my system). My bar of peppermint lye soap arrived yesterday (I'm letting it sit for a couple of days, as suggested by the people who made it). It's got a very different smell and feel. I can appreciate what you previously said about using pure soaps, etc. D. > > A lot more expensive than my homemade recipe but same principal, like my homemade more less additives. > http://nanotransformation.com/products-that-work/jasons-natural-shampoo-with-col\ loidal-sulfur.html > > LYE SOAP LOTION - HOW TO MAKE IT ( same process to make shampoo, dish soap and plant spray as well ) > > To make a lotion out of the soap it is really very easy. In fact it is a good way to recycle those small pieces left over from the shower. To make the lotion just take several small pieces and mix them with water. We recommend you use either a spring water or a distilled water. Something that has the impurities removed. Especially if your using the lotion for a skin allergy or something of the like. They put so many things in city water any more you don't know what you may be mixing into your lotion thus maybe even irritating your condition further. Also you may need to add a little heat when trying to get the soap and water mix if the pieces are really hard. Not much heat just a bit. Anyway just mix in enough water and stir it until you get the consistency you want for your lotion or dish soap or shampoo, whatever it is your making the mix for. Now be sure to put your mix into something relatively air tight so it won't dry right back out. If you need to take it with you in your purse or something just get a small squeeze bottle or a zip lock bag that your sure won't leak. We have also been told if you thin down the solution enough you can use it as a plant spray to keep unwanted bugs away from your plants. > http://www.smokymountainlyesoap.com/proddetail.php?prod=peppermintsoap > http://www.pennherb.com/cgi-bin/herbstore.cgi/herb?;Sulphur >
Guest guest
D If your going to make liquid soap from your lye bar you can cut the bar in fourths and it will cure much faster since you will be shaving it anyway, then go ahead and shave the first quarter this should make a gallon of shampoo or body soap, then if you have flower of sulfur add 2 tablespoons heaping mix with beater or blender on low. Guest guest
M., Thanks for that bit of advice. I still haven't mastered the art of " shaving " soap into fine particles. That was part of the reason my laundry soap mix didn't work as well it could have. I'm guessing you don't have to cook the gallon of water, after mixing it with grated peppermint lye flakes. Just put it in the blender- correct? D. > > > > > > A lot more expensive than my homemade recipe but same principal, like my homemade more less additives. > > > http://nanotransformation.com/products-that-work/jasons-natural-shampoo-with-col\ loidal-sulfur.html > > > > > > LYE SOAP LOTION - HOW TO MAKE IT ( same process to make shampoo, dish soap and plant spray as well ) > > > > > > To make a lotion out of the soap it is really very easy. Guest guest
M., I did as you requested (cut the lye bar in fourths, etc.). But after doing that, and also waiting two days, as requested by it's manufacturers, for the bar to get firm- it hasn't. Its still squishy/mushy and pliable (must be all the lard they put in it). Should I wait until the pieces of bar become firm/solid in order to try and shave it into making the shampoo or body lotion you just recommended. note: I still don't own any flower of sulfur. How necessary is it to use this ingredient. Obvously, it must be useful, or you wouldn't be incouraging me to include it into the mix, correct? Guest guest
M., I've let it sit for a couple of days now, and also cut it into quarters yesterday, as you suggested. Trying to speed up the process, by leaving them under the dehumidifier, etc. The pieces are still mushy, and not firm. Not in the best condition for shaving into flakes. Do you have any ideas on how I can make the soap/shampoo in their present condition? thanks, D. Guest guest
Maybe he added too much lard to the mixture (I think I can smell it). Thanks for the info.- looking forward to using it. Btw- I appreciate all your suggestions re: making your own shampoo/lotion from the pieces of soap already on hand. I don't like wasting things, and it's good to know how to do this for yourself (as opposed to wasting money buying things you don't need, etc.). > > > > > > > > > > A lot more expensive than my homemade recipe but same principal, like my homemade more less additives. > > > > > http://nanotransformation.com/products-that-work/jasons-natural-shampoo-with-col\ loidal-sulfur.html > > > > > > > > > > LYE SOAP LOTION - HOW TO MAKE IT ( same process to make shampoo, dish soap and plant spray as well ) > > > > > > > > > > To make a lotion out of the soap it is really very easy. Guest guest
M., Got it from the Smokey Mountain people. So, using it in this manner will s-t-r-e-t-c-h the product's usability eh? Brilliant idea. I asked Bessie this quesiton earlier, but do you think the Vick's Inhaher (vaporizer) will suffice as a cheaper version of the Tri-Jet Fogger? We have also been told if you thin down the solution enough you can use it as a plant spray to keep unwanted bugs away from your plants. > > > > > > http://www.smokymountainlyesoap.com/proddetail.php?prod=peppermintsoap > > > > > > http://www.pennherb.com/cgi-bin/herbstore.cgi/herb?;Sulphur > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Btw- what do you think of Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap? And is the liquid any better than the bar? > > > > > > > > > > > > A lot more expensive than my homemade recipe but same principal, like my homemade more less additives. > > > > > > http://nanotransformation.com/products-that-work/jasons-natural-shampoo-with-col\ loidal-sulfur.html > > > > > > > > > > > > LYE SOAP LOTION - HOW TO MAKE IT ( same process to make shampoo, dish soap and plant spray as well ) > > > > > > > > > > > > To make a lotion out of the soap it is really very easy. Guest guest
M., Good question. Hopefully, something that won't destroy my lungs ;0) Can you recommend another company (other than Smokey Mtn.) to buy the soap from? Guest guest
D I have used this link and bought a nano ultrasonic humidifier the same principal I would think for you vaporizer just do not use with birds and small pets around, I sleep with one beside my bed some nights and my dogs have had no reaction but my house is large and I keep both bedroom doors open. May be worth a try cheap enough that's for sure. If you are in the rooms do not use over 3 activated drops per gallon. Still waiting on that private email, will send out pronto via USPS. http://mms-articles.com/stopcoughing.htm > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > A lot more expensive than my homemade recipe but same principal, like my homemade more less additives. > > > > > > > > > http://nanotransformation.com/products-that-work/jasons-natural-shampoo-with-col\ loidal-sulfur.html > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > LYE SOAP LOTION - HOW TO MAKE IT ( same process to make shampoo, dish soap and plant spray as well ) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > To make a lotion out of the soap it is really very easy.
