Guest guest
Many of us, including me, experience just what you say. After 3 years I have found no sure answer. Some speculate that a fungal/bacterial infestation in our bodies attract these bugs. Guest guest
No one really understands why one person is effected and another is not. Also, not all protocols work for everyone. What works on one may not work on another. There are many different ways to try and eradicate the "things" so time will tell. I have followed the theory that after 3 months, if there was no improvement then I switch to some thing else. We have driven the things out of our home with pesticides of various kinds. So what ever route you take I wish the very best of luck. Rita Why am I the only one affected? Why am I the only one bothered by these things? Guest guest
Someone posted an article a while back that addresses this question, and it's not popular with those pushing the immune compromised theory. Do a search on " mosquitos " and you might find it. The point of the article is the organisms show a preference for women. I don't know of any " natural " supplement that can address this. The other was they were turned OFF by the odors emitted by unhealthy hosts, so were more likely to attack healthy people. If I was in your situation I'd move out of that residence because it will be hard to treat the place if no one else is affected. If that's not practical than re-post and we'll see what we can up with. Merry Christmas, Buggered > > No one really understands why one person is effected and another is not. Guest guest
Because they are " host specific " . I think the other two posts pretty much nailed it (re: the fungal connection). These creatures, for whatever reasons, know what they like and what they don't. Perhaps it's similar to how mosquitoes bite only certain people at a social gathering, and leave others alone. Guest guest
Next summer I am trying this recipe I did some in the fall but the mosquitoes are not real bad here in the fall more spring. Hoping it will work the same with ticks which are really bad in this part of the countryside. http://www.ehow.com/how_5665976_eat-sulfur-mosquito-repellent.html http://www.ehow.co.uk/way_5657368_sulfur-molasses-home-remedy.html Instructions Things You'll Need: * Sulfur * Cream of tartar * Honey * Pint jar 1. Step 1 Thoroughly mix together 2 tsp. sulfur, 1 tsp. of Cream of Tartar and 1 pint of honey in a pint jar. Sulfur can be found over the counter in most pharmacies. 2. Step 2 Take 1 tsp. of this recipe every day. It will take about two weeks for the repellent to become effective. 3. Step 3 Continue consuming this recipe throughout the mosquito season. Be certain to thoroughly mix this recipe before consuming it. > > > > Why am I the only one bothered by these things? There are 3 other people > > in our household and their not bothered at all. Guest guest
Dear mwam -- I am the only person in my circle of family and friends whose body got infested with birdmites and other bugs, even though the others have been exposed to the same bugs. My theory is that my problem was due to the presence of a mycoplasma infection in my body. Two years before my birdmite nightmare began, I was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and treated with a 7 day course of antibiotics. I did not feel healthy after the 7 days of antibiotics but did not bother to go back for more because I generally avoid using pharmaceuticals and I felt well enough to function. I believe the mycoplasma infection made me susceptible to being parasitized by the birdmites, and it's also possible that the birdmites transmitted other pathogens to me. I did not get any lab work done after I got the birdmites, could not afford to, so I am just guessing. Here is some info on mycoplasma: http://www.rain-tree.com/myco.htm myrtle > > Why am I the only one bothered by these things? Guest guest
I used " mosquitoes " as an examle of why I believe these bugs go after some persons and not others (living in close proximity). Again, I'm not an expert, and it may be more than a person's aroma that attracts certain insects to you. Perhaps it has to do with a person's particular blood chemistry or DNA- whatever it is, this is real. One thing everyone on this board has in common, is that they like us (more than other people). Isn't it nice to know how attractive we are? ;0) D. D. > > > > > > Why am I the only one bothered by these things? There are 3 other people > > > in our household and their not bothered at all. Or if it is the sugars and perservatives in food that made our inner bodies start to grow the molds and bacterias. Like people with pets that got this along with the family. Did the people feed them a certain type of dog food or even share to many goodies from their plate with all those perservaties and or sugars. It would be interesting to know if an animal was on a corn free, wheat free, soy free diet and got this....In Light Lynn>> I am a type O blood type. What are You guys?(yep it's really hecka comforting)But in that dumpy hospital all the nurses aides, nurse were getting bites, all around the facial area as typical of morgies...that was alot of people with skin rashes...I suspect there are thousands in the small town of lakeport(I think it may also be amount of bugs)but not sure...50 per cent of patients had the rash(usually face)..I think super scabies...was only there a couple months...(Like a hitchcock movie)
Guest guest
Thank you Lynn. The party was at a gun shop, so I did'nt miss much. My cop cronies have all decided I'm one brick shy so home was a bit happier. I got in my hot tub (with epsom salts, cedarcide, and borax) and yelled at the storms. I can't seem to get him to understand that sometimes scratching the SOBs is the only resort. Again, thanks for the birthday wishes. I hope to find enough 'ovaries' to stand up for myself in the coming year. Going to try MMS as soon as it arrives. I am afraid I am lossing the battle with my gums on my lower front teeth. I already have my 'redneck' licience for living where I do. Missing teeth would be a clencher for the ye-haw award. Blessings, Carol Carol From: Lynn <torpedolynn@... shop so I did'nt miss much. Guest guest
Bill, Neem bark, the active ingredient in our toothpowder and mouthwash, is rich in antioxidants – including glutathione – that may play an important role in gum disease. It seems to help keep my gums very healthy. I've use it a couple of years now. B > >> > > I am afraid I am lossing the battle with my gums on my lower front teeth. Guest guest
Hi Folks, I haven’t had time to spend online for days. My class had to make a gizillian Christmas presents. I had to catch up on cleaning at work. Then it was on home to more scrubbing, laundry, bathing and more scrubbing. I have not had enough sleep for months. You all know the drill, you live it everyday. (Except you blessed few CURED who give the rest of us hope.) I did not want to go visiting relatives and sit on their furniture feeling like I was giving them bugs so I spent Christmas Day home online catching up on the posting on this site. Wow, it is Sat the 26 th. I was 190 posts behind yesterday morning. Now I am only 79 posts behind. I see a few email threads that I really want to add my 2 cents to, but I feel that it is very poor manners to respond to 4 day old email without having read the current responses. This posting is one that I would like to respond to. I followed the link and while it isn't new info it is a scary reminder.Happy Holidays, Polly (lamomforce)From: Bessie <bessieglavas@...>Subject: Re: Why am I the only one affected?bird mites Date: Wednesday, December 23, 2009, 4:49 PM Your post reminded me of some information I was looking at last night, Myrtle. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm a 29 year old girl in Los Angeles who has battled with these Bird Mites for 6 months. I got it in my apartment when a bunch of pigeons started nesting on the balcony's. Once the nest's were gone me & 3 other tenants in the building felt it. It's been a long & horrible 6 months. I had the bird mites so bad that I could feel the crawling in the whites of my eyes, my ears & even my throat & all over my arms, legs & face. My friends, doctors & family all think I'm crazy. After doing much research I've found out that this itching & crawling is also known as Morgellons. In the past 6 months I've moved twice, lost my roommate & most of my belongings. The best way that I've found to get rid of them was to get rid of all my stuff (only keep what I can clean & dust off.) I wrapped my mattress & box spring in thick plastic wrap & duct tape, I threw away my couches & most of my clothes, pretty much any thing that was made of cloth or was hard to clean. I moved into a tiny back house that didn't have carpet. Here's the key. I take salt water showers (this helps keep the crawling feeling off my skin.) To do this I first shower using Dawn dishwashing soap (lather it up real good all over your body from head to toe & then rinse it off real good, the sulfer in the soap keeps the bird mites off. Then while I'm still in the shower I get a small water bottle & fill it with about 2 inches of Epsom salt, fill the rest of the bottle with hot water & pour it all over my body but don't towel dry, just air dry. You're skin will turn dusty white after & it might feel a little bit dirty but trust me this will stop the crawling. Do this salt water shower twice a day or as much as you need until you feel the crawling stop. Then I dust every single thing in my apartment twice a day with amonia but clorox wet whipes work too but can get expensive. I clean my computer & all the wires, the t.v. my dresser & everything on it, the outiside of the refridgerater etc.. I clean the floors with amonia & a steam cleaner mop (I use the shark steam cleaner), then I wash all of my bedding in hot water & use borax or Fab. I also washed all of my clothes & put them in large plastic tubs & only wear things once & after I wear it put it in a plastic bag & wash it the next day. I've done this for 2 months now & every week I feel the bird mites less & less. But heres the thing...This parasite or what ever it is is in my body so I feel the itchy & crawling symptoms right before my period, especially when I eat sugar. So if you're a girl you might want to avoid eating any sugar when you're pms'ing or else you feel the itching & crawling even stronger. Oh also I've been drinking this tea called Star of Anise. My grandma told me about it. This seams to help alot because it makes your blood not taste good to the bird mites. The tea looks like little wooden stars the size of a quarter. You can buy this tea at the grocery store like at Vons or Ralph's for about $0.79 a packet & you can also get it online. To make the tea I put about 10 stars in a boiling pot of water & cook it for about 5 minutes. It's good & tastes like licorice. Hope this helps you & don't give up. Guest guest
- Have you kept in touch with your neighbors who were also affected? A poster on topix- scabies forum found out 1 cup arm & hammer powdered laundry soap in the tub & soaking in it for 30 mins kills the bug , she is cured now after a 2 year battle Baking soda works the same too & 1 teasp of either in a cup of water poured on the head & left over nite makes all the head bumps go away .. I do this after taking a shower with selsun blue , daily version topix: http://www.topix.com/forum/health/scabies/TKN7C65AKILQNGL46 God bless you, Bill Reyes wrote: >  > Hi Everyone, > I'm a 29 year old girl in Los Angeles who has battled with these Bird Mites for 6 months. The best way that I've found to get rid of them was to get rid of all my stuff (only keep what I can clean & dust off.) I wrapped my mattress & box spring in thick plastic wrap & duct tape, I threw away my couches & most of my clothes, pretty much > any thing that was made of cloth or was hard to clean. Then I dust every single thing in my apartment twice a day with amonia but clorox wet > whipes work too but can get expensive. My > grandma told me about it. >
