Guest guest
Who needs to pay money to research something when they 1. Have no subjects or viable samples to test 2. Wouldn't know what hypotheses to test if they did have subjects. 3. Couldn't get grant money due to a and b. Where would they start, anyhow? Here are some possible hypotheses that the medical and scientific community might consider: Morgies: are they nuts? (That's easy. In her highly worshipped article from popular science, "Delusory Parasitosis," the incredibly credible Hinkle says yes, we are. So, no grant money. Antidepressants and antipsychotics, maybe, but no grant money) Morgies: is there such a thing? (no, because to use the premise of the classic metaphorical story "The Emperor's New Clothes," the naked emperor is dressed, and the docs say no, there is not such a thing, so no grant money.) Morgies: I don't want to touch them, do you want to touch them? (No samples=no grant money.) Morgies: is this thread alive? (Threads aren't alive, silly. Nevermind nematodes and filiariases. It's all in their heads, remember? Off with their heads! No grant money!) Morgies: why do the fibers change colors? (Protective coloration? Adaptation? What do those mean? Nevermind, we don't want to hear it. No grant money!) Morgies: aren't you tired of hearing from/about them? (We [nonsufferers all] are. Whine, whine, whine. Get over it, sickos. It isn't real. Those aren't bites. You poked a hole in your own skin from the inside out, ya nerd. No grant money!) Here's the bottom line: We are, and always have been, our only hope. But you know, that isn't such a bad thing. Look how far we have come as a group of lay researcher/sufferers in just the last 6 months! We are friggin' amazin', dudes and dudettes!! katie
