Guest guest
My etimioligist suggested to use tape. For example if you feel a Crawlie grab a piece of tape an place it on skin. Or if you can see themI use the tape and then look at it under a high power magnifying glassI kind of decided not to go the etimoligist way b/c they already seemedDoubtful and told me( I hadn't even mentioned fibers) that a lady wasHaving fibers in her skin due to an aergic reaction to wool. I thoughtJust to identify would be part of the majic bullet, but my bug man ofYears told me that there are soo ma y types of mites, even mites haveMites. So now I am just focusing on how to get rid ofvwith basicly What others are havingcsuccess withSent from my iPhoneOn Aug 17, 2009, at 6:54 PM, buggeredbymites <no_reply > wrote: If you're working on a shoestring you might also consider Terminix. Can't vouch for their services as I haven't used them yet, but apparently they have their own labs and will ID for free. You just have to call them and get an address of where to mail the specimen. BTW, if you happen to speak to an entomoligist, please ask that individual how he recommends one capture an intact BIRD MITE specimen for ID, then kindly report back your findings. Guest guest
Hi Cerph .. Do you Cerph ? I love Cerphing .. ..kidding .. .. any ways Crawling & bites are stopped by blasting your environment with soap 1 cup, & 4-5 cups of water and or 1/2- 1 box of borax per room , spread like a snow storm will stop them dead , leave it down for 1 week at least then vacuum & repeat in 3 days For the skin a warm bath for 30mins in 2 cups epsom 1 cup borax & 1/8 cup bubbly detergent , ( any detergent , mild is best : shampoo, dishsoap etc , it drowns the floaters ) Bad ares thet won & #39;t heal 16 oz peroxide 32 oz water 2 oz borax , mix & apply after every shower , this mix is very effective & is explained at www .earthclinic. com use mange as search word Best to kill the preditors before they multiply & bring disease. I sleep in the car or motorhome if my house is in fumagation or borax snowstorm mode , Heattreating is easier & cheaper because you get to save your stuff.. Zooks did it & beat them . Heattreating is a standard practice in the mold remediation industry God bless you , Bill cerph1000 wrote: > > I've contacted them, but things are moving slowly in return. > Patience is difficult, when you're being creeped and bitten, etc. > I'll let you know what happens after they check it out. > -D. > >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > Hi, >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > Would appreciate feedback re: a reliable, relatively inexpensive, Entomologist/ Entomological Service you can recommend. >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > Thanks, >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > -D. >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > >> > > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > >> > > >> > >> >

Guest guest
I am Soooooooooooooo Happy that they are NOT insects! Thank you for taking the time to do this! From: bessieglavas <bessieglavas@...>Subject: Re: Entomological Assistance Neededbird mites Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 8:16 PM Cerph -These results are fascinating, and I would NOT dismiss them as inaccurate. The only thing that he proabably got all wrong is the source of the fibers.I know it doesn't explain the sensations you have, but you got a heck of a lot further than most of us do!!Bessie> > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > Hi,> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Would appreciate feedback re: a reliable, relatively inexpensive, Entomologist/ Entomological Service you can recommend.> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks,> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -D.> > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > >> > > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > >> > > >> > >> >>
Guest guest
I put double sided tape on some index cards. When I caught something, I just put some tape on top as well. Guest guest
Dear Marie, I've been wondering - since the Bug website says you can see springtails covering tubs, outside, etc., and since you saw them - this doesn't sound like the "invisible bug"? We have had mold and probably fungus surrounding our house and indoors, and I've tried to treat with fungicides, as well as Bifen granules and Bifen IT inside on baseboards and exterior the last time sprayed. I don't see the black specs that others report. I now have a pocket microscope and am viewing things - just not sure what I'm seeing. Never had any luck with the black glue strips when sent to entomologists. Under the microscope I've seen white fiber elongated things, actually found a real bug, and crystallized things, and a black thing protruding from a piece of crystallized mass (is that skin flakes? see lots of bright shiny stuff on arms when viewed with microscope but not so much on hands.) And on one occasion I saw what resembled a springtail. However, could not see this without microscope. I guess you can see them when in clusters? We are experiencing some peace for now - just occasional wisps near computer, TV, and two other areas of the house. I'm not sure whether this is some kind of reaction I'm having to electronics or if it's the bug. I have neuropathy and nerves could possibly play a role in these reactions. I spritz with a little alcohol on the site, and this helps for a short time. Also, re MMS, can you get as much benefit from soaks, spritzing, activated dish in room, etc. without taking internally? Thanks for all your efforts and info. .... Judy Re: Entomological Assistance Neededbird mites Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 11:20 PM M.,Where exactly do you buy glue traps? Guest guest
I did. Springtails. I also caught them in a bit of Neem in a bottle top. Never could catch a mite. They moved too fast and I only saw them in the very beginning before I knew how important it was to catch them. The hot water under a light never worked for me. Re: Entomological Assistance Needed Thanks great idea.Have you ever taken the caught speciman to the extension office? If not would you? Guest guest
I will add that although I trapped springtails that were visible without magnification, I still feel crawling from something I can't see and I never have seen a springtail on me. I saw a couple of mites on me early on but not for several months now. The crawling is worse in certain spots in the house, and usually starting on my feet, and almost nonexistent when I travel. So it may not be springtails that are actually on me. Just there is some sort of connection it seems.
