Guest guest
I have been giving them weekly injections of Doramectin and working on my environment and they still shake their heads a lot and itch and bite at their legs and base of tails. I have been dealing with this for over 1 year now and I dont know what to do. I hope someone out there who has gone through this can help me. When the mites bite is there a mark? I have no welts or bumps but have tiny pinprick spots that look like broken blood vessels. I also seem to have the most activity on my head. I think I have lost about half of my hair. Please Please help if you can. I am beside myself with all this going on. I dont want to have to put my kitties down. I love them so. Guest guest
Everyone on this site knows and understands your worries, When we have pets involved I think this skin mess is about 50% worse and 1000% worse on the mental anguish of having to watch them suffer with this mess on their skin. I had dogs so I don't know much about cats. What I have learned is that Benzoyl Peroxide killed what ever we had on our skin. There is a benzoyl peroxide shampoo 3% for cats at this site: http://www.healthypets.com/bpo316oz.html We use a 2.5 % BP gel on our skin and we order it at this site: http://www.danielkern.com/category-s/22.htm If you find that the BP is helping your skin and the pets then you might want to stay with it for some time. For the cats eyes and ears you could try keeping Vaseline around the rims of their eyes, and down in their ears, it doesn't burn. Placing the BP in their ears might work also. It seems to be all trial and error with this mess and what works for one person doesn't always work for others. If you have any more questions just ask....there are many on this site that have some good advice and I hope you hear from other cat owners. Good luck, Rita what can I do to get rid of these mites on my 4 cats?
