Guest guest
, I must have missed your questions. Keeping a log is important along with documenting the date of onset and date of completion. Include all signs and symptom and height of fever. Indicate if Ibuprofen and/or Tylenol relieves fevers.... and the degrees the temp drops when medicated. Depending on where you live, pediatricians may or may not be aware of the different periodic fever syndromes. There are , TRAPS, FMF, HIDs, Muckle Wells, NOMID, CINCA and a few other disorders which may mimic these and cause difficulty with diagnosis. Again depending on WHERE You live... etc... depends on who you see. Immunologist, ID docs, Rheumatologists may all see Periodic Fever Syndrome patients. Just depends. All are qualified. The study is at the NIH, national institute for health run by our government.... in Bethesda Md. I just posted the info for contact. In order to get in you need either EXCELLENT medical records and a SOLID clinical history with lab studies you collected along with a doctor's note indicating there are periodic fevers of unknown origin. As mentioned to all our newer members in my welcome letter... please visit the files and links at our site. There is an abundant amount of information as well as the contact info I just posted. Guest guest
Thanks! Thank you so much for listing all the fever syndromes that will help a lot. On a great note, we saw our new ped and he was very familiar with as well as the current treatments including getting the tonsils taken out! I was so surprised as this is our 3rd ped and the first one that didn't just tell me my son is just sick. What a relief! He did say that he doesn't know enough about the current research on the best approach, blood tests etc.. so he definitely wants Zachery to see an ID doc. So he goes on to recommend this great Dr. that he thinks will be able to help us and when he hands me the name I actually know this Dr.! Small world! We have a mutual friend with this Dr. and I guess I just never paid attention to what kind of Doc he was. So for a rough week that we had with Zachery it was the best news I had heard! Guest guest
Anyone have experience using TKO, or kleen free in their laundry? Also has anyone tried taking D'Limonene capsules? They say they are anti parasitic. I need a laundry additive that is a sure thing. The RP is the best thing i have used so far, but it is about 95%. I cant afford for anything to slip by when we move. I plan on trashing all cotton, and using RP, and menthol crystals in bags.
Guest guest
I purchased the BioKleen and really like it. I use mine with Borax and sometimes a little baking soda and I haven't too many problems with laundry. Although, I don't think any product is fail-proof so depending on the material, a bug may get through. If I were you I would soak the clothes really good and then wash with a good detergent. Kleen Free is an enzyme cleaner made by Natural Genesis. My mom swears by it when using it on her clothes after washing to make sure it's bug free. She dilutes it in a spray bottle and spray the clothes really well, then put it in the dryer or iron it really well. > > > > Anyone have experience using TKO, or kleen free in their laundry? If it's enzyme cleaner, I used that in laundry but borax/ammonia was much cheaper for synthetics. Any cottons, I just bleached the hell out of them. Thank goodness it seems to work, I love cotton shirts and blue jeans. I am in Oregon, jeans are kind of a uniform here. > > I just read a thread a week or so ago that said BioKleen detergent got them out of her clothes, and kept them out. I haven't tried it, though. >
