Guest guest
It's probable that " environmentally-friendly carpet cleaning " is an oxymoron, unfortunately. This is especially true for soggy carpet! The best thing you could do for your family is find a recycler for used carpet and put in a really nice non-endangered wood floor (or other solid flooring. You can do wonders with paint, varnish and some technique, right on bare concrete (see the floor at the MVV farm store for an example!) and this costs 1/10 of what one carpet cleaning would cost. If you go back into the archives of the Star and Trib and find the article by Karin Winegar entitled something like THE HORROR THAT IS IN YOUR CARPET, you will see my point. Carpeting probably accounts for more allergies and chronic health problems than diet alone could ever cure. It's a JUNGLE down there! Mold, fungus, dander, human skin, toxins, myriad allergy particles and house mites. Yipes! Your health (and that of your pets and kids) will thank you! Wear masks and big rubber gloves and have a carpet ripping party. Be sure to send it to the new carpet recycling place. Will
Guest guest
I had a bad experience with a carpet in a van. Out of sheer desperation I finally used Miracle II plain soap mixed with neutralizer and left it wet over night. The following morning I sucked it out with a wet dry vac. The carpet came out really clean, odor free, and soft. If anyone is interested in details call me 763-757-3661. --- http://USFamily.Net/dialup.html - $8.25/mo! -- http://www.usfamily.net/dsl.html - $19.99/mo! ---
Guest guest
Hi All, Question for those who have conquered these demons in the carpet. What would you suggest for using as a solution in the carpet cleaner? My carpet cleaner is an upright Hoover and I don't want to clog it but could use some advice as to the best solution to kill these things in a " clean and kill " solution. Thanks all! God Bless you all in your daily battles, too! Lady Dee
