Guest guest
Sounds good to me. I'll try to get some shipped out tomorrow via Post Office. M What can we do? I've been watching the news almost every minute from wake up to sleepsince our country was attacked. I can't begin to explain the thoughtsthat have been running through my mind. What's next? Who's next? Is mychild safe at school? What can I do to help? I'm sure all of you havefound yourself asking these same sort of questions. The last question I mentioned is one that really bothers me. There islittle I can do. I'm no longer certified as an EMT in NYS. I can'tdonate blood... tried to in high school and my social security numbernow carries the word "Fainter" in the redcross data base. I didn'thave a flag so I got out my craft paints and instead of doing myHalloween painting on the windows like I had planned for this week Iinstead painted an American flag on my front window. My father sent upanother flag for me today so that is there as well and I've also addedan electric candle to the window too. I still felt strange. Like therehas to be more, but what? Days of watching the workers down there and it hit me today... I can'tdo anything, but WE can do something. Those workers are dirty and whatdo we do best?? MAKE SOAP! Here's what I propose... Lets group together and send a package ofsoap to these workers from the Central New York Soapmakers!! Here's what to do....1) send as many bars of soap to me that you want to donate... Colleenand I will box them up and ship them from the group from here... againthis should only be soap.2) Important.... these must be unisex scents and nothing fancy. We want to help them clean up...they will not be looking at where thesoap came from (but include your contact info per FDA standards) orwhat shape or even what color it is. Ugly... off shape.... underweight... send it! It's still soap and it all cleans the same way.3) Send them to me ASAP!I have a friend who works for the Salvation Army and they can put mein touch with the person I need to send these to. Most likely it willbe through the Red Cross, but maybe they have a faster route ofgetting them there.Address to send your soap donations to:Terri Wagner635 Lupine DriveSyracuse NY 13209Lets help these rescue workers clean up!TerriOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. Guest guest
Sounds great , Thank you! I'm getting a door to door delivery tomorrow from G with a ton of soap also. My sister has become a " Friend of " and is kicking some cash to help cover postage if we need it. I haven't mentioned postage yet because this box or boxes of soap may be going on a Red Cross truck... I'll know more in a few hours and get back to everyone. Guest guest
Dear Rita, I read your post to Bessie and my heart sunk. I know this is devastating to you and your husband. I feel so badly for you both. But remember, you're armed with an arsenal of knowledge and products that will help you get through this - if anybody can, you can. Even so, it has to be a terrible moment for you right now, especially right on the heels of your daughter-in-law's developments. We're still struggling and although we had a month of blissful freedom, we are not out of the woods yet and have had a few set-backs, which I will discuss later. I just want you to know I'm pulling for you and hope you get it under control quickly. I guess none of us are safe out in the yards. God bless you, Judy
