RED FRIDAY?

Oh, I know! Some of

you already have your shopping shoes on this morning.

(I hope they're comfortable.) That's right, get

ready, America! It's the day after Thanksgiving and

you know what that means. It's BLACK FRIDAY!

All year

long, America's biggest retailers have their giant

sales. 50% off! Special gift with purchase. No

interest for a whole year! You know all of the

little tricks they use getting us to open our purses and

wallets. But did you know this?

With all of the sales

they have at Sears, Walmart, Target and the other

national chains, those stores don't begin turning a

profit until now, the kickoff of the Christmas holiday

shopping season. And that's why they call today Black

Friday. See, this is the time of year when

their profits go...into the black!

And I can't believe

it. This year, they're starting earlier than ever.

They used to open their doors at like 4:00AM or even

3:00AM, trying to get shoppers in as early as

possible. (To spend as much money as

possible...LOL!) But wait, this year, some of those

stores opened at midnight last night! (Boy,

they barely gave Thanksgiving a chance to be over this

year!

But may I tell you

something? On this day after Thanksgiving, I'm more

interested in RED FRIDAY. That is, when it

comes to your weight. See, unlike those big

retailers, it's not a surplus we're looking for, not

on our scales, anyway. If, after a much-too-big

holiday meal yesterday, did you step on the scale this

morning and begin your day with a real

"Black" Friday? I mean, did you see a surplus...in

your weight? Well, I hope the answer is NO!

Alright everybody, not only is today the kickoff of

the holiday shopping season, it's also the kickoff for

you to reach the weight-loss goal you set for yourself

at the beginning of this year. (Remember that promise

you made to yourself back on January 1st?)

That's right. It's time to get really serious

about meeting the New Years' weight-loss

goal/resolution you set for 2011. If you haven't yet,

please, take charge of your eating habits...now,

starting today! And by the way, from today,

you've got 36 more days before this year is over.

That means you've got 36 hours of working out to

get in before your clock chimes midnight on

December 31st. Hey, you could lose another 8-10

pounds during these last five weeks of 2011.

Okay, okay, I know

I'm keeping you! Hey, like I said, some of those

stores have been open since midnight and, oh yes, the

malls are calling your names! But while you're out

running from store-to-store today, make all of that

walking count. If you're going to a food

court for lunch, choose some place that has a good

salad bar, okay?

And one last thought I

want you to remember. You want to end 2011 IN

THE RED, that is with your weight-loss!
