THAT LOOK

Sunday, 15 April 2012

I read hundreds of e-mails everyday. And I

have to tell you, every now and then one of them

really tugs at my heart. Just the other day, I

read an e-mail that brought a tear to my eye. Let me

share it with you.

"If I keep eating the

way I do, I won't live to see my baby grow up."

Dear : I just have to tell you what

happened to me last night. I was getting my one

year-old daughter ready for bed and as I was putting

on her pajamas, a thought hit me hard. I was

dressing my little angel and she was just so cute.

I took a good look at her and thought to myself,

"You know, if I keep eating the way I do, I won't

live to see my baby grow up."

I'd never thought like that before, . And

the thought really scared me! You need to know, I'm

5'6", weigh 320 pounds and might as well admit, I

think I'm addicted to food! As I continued dressing

my daughter, I began crying, thinking about how my

weight could lead to my missing out on seeing her

grow up. My baby, barely a toddler, seemed to sense

something was wrong. She looked at me, hugged me

and held me so tight. Her lip even began quivering

as she hugged me even tighter. She was about to

start crying watching me cry! I'm

telling you, that look in her eyes, it just did

something to me!

At that very moment, I

decided I had to do

something about my weight.

, at that very moment, I decided I had to do

something about my weight. I need to try harder

than ever before to lose over 100 pounds. Not for

me...but for her, my darling baby girl. In the

morning, I intend to begin a new chapter in my

life. The chapter where I end up becoming a new

man, a healthier man who'll

live a long time!

Now, like me, you probably thought this letter would

end with it being from the little girl's mother. But

when I got to the end and saw that a man had written me

with those thoughtful words, it made me want to cry! God bless

him!

Whether you're a man or a woman, if you have young

children, I'm sure you can relate to this e-mail. I

wrote this wonderful father back and told him how much

his letter had touched me. But there was one thing I

had to make clear. And that is, yes, he should lose

this weight for the sake of his beautiful daughter. But...it

was also okay to lose this weight for

himself, too!

Because the good news is that by losing the weight, period...he

would be doing it for both of

them!

I want you to think about

this father and his words.

If you're not working to lose the weight you need, as

you go about your day, I want you to think about this

father and his words. Then I want you to pose a

question to yourself: Have you seen that look in the eyes of

someone you love?

Love,
