A LOVE STORY FROM CHERYL

Saturday, 01 October 2011

Well cozy yourselves up and get

comfortable, everybody. I've got a love story I

want to share with you. It all begins with an

e-mail I received back in January from a lady in

Massachusetts. (Oh how I love that state.) The

letter was one of those January 1st kind of letters

I receive so many of at the beginning of a new

year. I'm sure you know how it is, everybody is

ready to start fresh at the beginning of the year...to

lose weight!

Cheryl told me how she'd lost and re-gained

weight over-and-over again during the course of her

life.

Cheryl told me how she'd lost and re-gained weight

over-and-over during the course of her life. And

the last time she'd lost a considerable amount of

weight, she got a little "full of herself" and

figured she was in "total control." She got to the

point where she figured a stop at a fast food

restaurant here or a piece of pastry there wasn't

going to hurt. Right? Uhhh, wrong! In

time, Cheryl ended up gaining back all of

the weight she'd lost. So, does her story sound

familiar?

Cheryl and I ended up becoming Internet pen pals. I

gave her lots of suggestions on how to get back on

track. We talked about changing her eating habits

and how important it was to get her workouts in

everyday. Every couple of weeks, I'd I receive an

e-mail from Cheryl with an update on her progress.

"Oh, I lost five more pounds this

month! I can't tell you how good it feels to be

losing weight again!"

She's lost 4 1/2 inches from her waist and

three dress sizes.

I loved reading Cheryl's e-mails because they were

so cheery. She always managed to see the bright

side of things. She and I have been pen pals for

nine months now and in that time, Cheryl's lost 52

pounds. Oh yes, you read it right, she's

lost 52

pounds in 2011. Hooray for you, Cheryl!

She was averaging about a five pound weight-loss

each month and, some months, she even lost a little

more. She's also lost 4 1/2 inches from her waist

and three dress sizes.

Cheryl told me she feels like Cinderella and,

in fact, that's what her husband calls her now.

(Hmm, I wonder if he bought her a pair of glass

slippers? LOL.)

Now may I tell you something? Cheryl's is a true love

story. Oh sure, her loving, devoted husband

is an important part of the story. But my point

here is this: in order to lose the weight, Cheryl

had to begin loving herself.

Oh, I'm telling you, nothing keeps you going and

reaching your goals, better than self-love.

Do you love yourself enough, just

like Cheryl, to lose at least five pounds-a-month?

Now many of you reading this message today also

wrote me back in January. You wrote telling me

about your own ups-and-downs on the weight-loss

carousel. You told me how badly you wanted to lose

weight. Well, my question to you is, do

you love yourself enough, just like Cheryl,

to lose at least five pounds-a-month?

I hope your answer to that question is "yes." But

if your answer is "no," it's time to turn that

feeling around. You have three months left in 2011

to do just that. Yep, that's right everybody, today

isthe first day of October. The 10th

month of 2011 is here!

That means, starting today, you have three months

left in this year to begin really loving yourself.

It's time to focus on planning your meals and

getting your workouts in. And once you get started,

(listen to me good here), you've got to...stick

with it!

You're going to have a lot of foods out

there this month, (candies especially), that know

your name.

You're going to have a lot of foods out there this

month, (candies especially), that know your name.

With a strong, soild plan, you'll be able to shield

yourself from those temptations. That Halloween

candy has already begun lining the aisles of your

local Target store or Walgreens. They're w-a-i-t-i-n-g for you!

But remember, you havegot to say NO to those "not-so-sweet" temptations

and yes to your own

love story. That is, YES to yourself

and NO to

the candy!

And by the way, congratulations to Cheryl and to all of

you who've

been on the right track so far this year losing the

weight you need to lose. Now, keep it

up in

this last quarter of 2011!

Love,
