Guest guest
I'M B-A-A-A-C-K! Sunday, 06 March 2011 Did you miss me? Well, I certainly missed you! But those new friends of mine at Air New Zealand certainly kept me busy and made me feel right at home. Now you know me, I don't travel as well as I used to but I truly did have a fabulous time in Auckland. The spots I did for Air New Zealand were a lot of fun and it was such a joy working with everyone at the airline. I have to tell you, I was a little nervous when I arrived at the big hangar where we would be taping the spots. We didn't tape on a real plane. Air New Zealand actually built portions of a plane for us to shoot our spots. And our sets did indeed look like a jumbo airliner! I just wonder what all of those passengers will think when they see me starring in their in-flight safety spots. Oh, I wish I could be there to see their reactions. LOL. Those of you who've flown before know the drill. I had to do that little demonstration where they show you how to fasten your seatbelts. I had to demonstrate what to do in case the flight runs into turbulence. I had to point out the exit lighting in case of an in-flight emergency. And of course, I had to point out the locations of the bathrooms. (Hey some of those Air New Zealand flights are very long! LOL.) By the way, I also have to tell you about the wonderful extras I worked with. They were all so nice. I felt instantly comfortable with each of them and we were a great team working together. I was so tired when I boarded the plane for my flight home to Los Angeles. So the minute our flight got up into the air...I conked out and woke up about two hours before our scheduled landing in Los Angeles. I looked out the window and saw ocean, as far as the eye could see. (Look, there's a Carnival cruise ship!) I was so glad to get back home but my time away seemed to, well...fly! I guess it's because I was having so much fun. And just think, this whole adventure began with the Air New Zealand people who joined me for a class at Slimmons. Guess I never know who I'll to run into at my club. I thank God everyday for giving me Slimmons, my fabulous workout studio where I can...do my thing. Of course I came home to lots of E-mail and letters. I really missed being at my own computer while I was away. Looks like I'm gonna have to get myself a laptop one of these days. Good, one more thing to pack when I travel...LOL. It was so good getting in yesterday and seeing my sweet Hattie. Oh, I let her lick and kiss me for a good ten minutes! The hotel where I stayed in Auckland was truly beautiful and they treated me like a king. (And I didn't even have to give "a speech." LOL.) All of the food was delicious but still, you know how much I love cooking my own meals at home. I'll be getting back into my kitchen later today, in fact! In the meantime, I want to thank all of the nice people at Air New Zealand who made this such a special and fun trip for me. They took such great care of me. Hmmm, now I wonder where my next adventure will take me? Love,
