Guest guest
HIT THE ROAD, RICHARD! Wednesday, 16 March 2011 Well, I'm all packed and ready to motivate! Oh how I just love teaching my exercise classes on the road. And after class is over, I love the opportunity to meet and talk with many of the people who joined my class. I have good motivational talks with as many of them as I can. And one thing I've discovered from meeting so many nice people on the road is this: Everyone seems to have a problem, at least on occasion, with staying on program. As I meet everyone, I remind them that they are worth it and must concentrate on their weight-loss program everyday, if they want to meet their goals. I'll be leaving in a little while for Rochester, New York. I'm taking a new book with me to read on the flight over called Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. I saw a clip of the new movie by the same name, starring Reese Witherspoon and I was fascinated by the subject. It's all about circus life in Sarasota, Florida back in the 1940's. But wait, let's get back to my subject... So what will I be doing in Rochester? Well, I'm doing one of my big Senior's events. (I love them!) They've been doing this event in Rochester for years and I guess they invited me because now...I am a senior! LOL. I'm sorry to say that as some people get older, they don't eat as healthy and don't move their bodies as often as they should. Well, this week in Rochester, I intend to change that for all of the good people who come out to see me. I'm gonna get them moving and share my formula for staying young with all of them. Like I said earlier, I love doing these appearances for seniors. I just love to make them laugh and move those bodies of theirs, too. After Rochester, I return home to Los Angeles but only for a minute. I have to get right back on another plane and fly up to Redding, California. I've been invited to Redding by the Shasta Regional Medical Center. They're sponsoring a big healthy lifestyles expo and part of the event will be a 100-Day challenge for getting fit! (Oh, I like that!) I was so surprised at some of the statistics Shasta Regional shared with me about my fellow Californians. For example, 81% of adults in our state are overweight. And, to make matters worse, way too many of them are basically inactive and don't get regular exercise. Well, I'm calling this event a Health Revival! I'll teach the folks in Redding everything I know about exercise and give them a real education on the right foods to eat. The expo will be held at a very old theatre in Redding that was built 70 years ago called the Cascades Theatre. I can't wait to see it. So, looks like I've got some more traveling to do. One day, I'll be about as far east as I can go in the U.S. Then, a day-or-two later, I'll be about as far west as you can go in the continental U.S. I'm all ready to meet some wonderful people, share some great motivation and have a lot of fun with everyone I meet! And on yeah, while I'm on the road, I want you all to promise that you'll keep taking good care of yourselves. Remember, in order to reach your weight-loss goals, you've got to stay motivated. Because without motivation, it's going to be a whole lot harder to reach those goals you've set for yourself. I'll be sharing that same message with the folks of Rochester and Redding in just a couple of days. Okay, my ride to the airport wil be here soon so I'd better get the last of these sparkly tank-tops packed! Love,
