S-H-H-H-H-H!

Quiet, please! I

don't want any racket because it's time for my nap.

As you know, I get up very early every

morning. So I do like to take some down-time and

have a little afternoon nap. And okay, you may be

wondering, with all of my endless energy, why would

even want to take a

nap? Well, let me tell you why.

A regular nap can reduce stress and even

decrease your risk of heart disease.

A regular nap can help reduce stress and even

decrease your risk of heart disease. Your body

needs time to recharge and that happens when you

make time for a nap.

Now some people drink coffee when they want

a quick recharge during the day. But may I tell you

something? The caffeine in coffee actually decreases your memory

performance and even gets you all wired up. Hey,

that's not good!

On the other hand, a nap naturally boosts your

energy level plus it increases your cognitive skills

and creativity. Just think, all that happens when

you close your eyes for a little sleep. I really

enjoy my afternoon naps. As I lay there falling

asleep, I think of how blessed I am and before you

know it...I'm out!

You've heard of power-walks, right? Well, it turns

out that power-naps are

good for your body, too. So are you a napper? Do

you feel recharged after taking a nap, like I do?

Try to schedule your naps for the same time

everyday.

A lot of you are not nappers. But if you can fit a

nap into your daily schedule, maybe you should.

Here are a few tips for making the best out of your

own naps. Try to schedule them for the same time

everyday. And keep in mind, your naps don't have to

be long ones naps for you to benefit from them. My

naps are quick, usually lasting about 30 minutes. I

unplug my phone before my nap because I don't want

to be disturbed. You should also try to nap in a

dark room, (I do), because blocking out the light

helps you fall asleep faster and sleep better.

As you know, I've had many, many Dalmatians in my

life. I used to take a nap with all of my girls at

one time. We'd crawl into bed, cuddle up, close our

eyes and before you knew it....Z-z-z-z-z-z!

Now, I have only my little Hattie and sometimes I

lay on the floor with her as we nap together and her

head is resting on my shoulder. Now that's peaceful.

Hey, I've got a suggestion for you. If you ever

find yourself feeling a little stressed out...sleep

it out!

Love,
