LOOK WHAT

"EASY" GOT YOU

Tuesday, 08 March 2011

Millions of Americans say

they simply don't like to cook. They claim it's too

hard and consumes too much of their time. Most

Americans want an easy meal. For instance,

what's easier than calling up a pizza parlor and

ordering a big pizza topped with four kinds of cheese,

including cheese baked into the crust...oh, my!

(Ding-dong.) Pizza's here!

But wait, you're in the mood for

Chinese so you call up that great oriental restaurant

downtown and order what can only be described as an

Asian banquet. Let's see, you ordered sliced pork,

sesame chicken, shrimp with snow peas, shrimp fried

rice and egg rolls. And can I have some extra

sweet & sour sauce, please? (Did I make

you hungry? LOL.) And once the food arrives, all you

have to do is lift the lids on those litle white

boxes, whip out those chopsticks and...dig in! (Easy,

right?)

And it's so easy to drive through one of those fast

food places and order a cheeseburger or fried chicken

sandwich with a large order of fries. And if you

really want easy, there's a 7-Eleven on every corner.

They have those big-old foot long hot dogs, turning on

that little rotisserie all day, just waiting to be

scooped up...by YOU? Yeah...if you want

easy! Let's face it, those kinds of foods are

a lot easier than preparing your own meals at home.

Today, I'm going to make a turkey

meat loaf. So I have to dice some onions, celery and

mix them with the turkey meat, egg white, bread crumbs

and spices. Then I'll spray a baking pan with a

little olive oil Pam and layer the mixture into it.

I'll bake it at 350 degrees for about an hour. I'll

also pierce a nice yam a few times with a fork before

popping it into the oven along with the meat loaf.

And while my yam and meatloaf are

baking, I'll make a salad with lettuce, tomatoes,

shredded carrots and mushrooms. I'll make myself a

tasty salad dressing using olive oil, balsamic vinegar

and my own blend of spices.

Okay, so it took about an-hour-and-twenty minutes to

prepare a healthy dinner for myself. It's a dinner

filled with vitamins and minerals that're really gonna

nourish my body, too.

Now compare the meal I'm making to

what those easy meals I talked about earlier

give your body. Too much salt. Too much fat.

To much processed stuff. (Sounds like a bunch

of "winners" for your body, huh?) Come on!

Why keep taking the easy-way-out? Let's face it.

What the easy-way-out got you was, well...fat!

I've always said that if

you want to lose weight, get into your kitchen and

make your own healthy meals. Yes, it will take a

little more time but in the process, you'll be taking

much better care of that body of yours and...losing

weight!

So today, I want you to sit at your kitchen table and

make a shopping list of the healthy foods you need to

have in your home to cook the healthiest meals

possible. Hey, it's the easy way to

dropping all of the pounds you want and need to lose!

Love,
