Guest guest
WEIGHT-LOSS SEASON Sunday, 18 September 2011 Beginning in October, you'll start seeing commercials on TV for lots of weight-loss products. Hey, those big companies have done their research. They know how much you really want to drop some weight in time for the holidays. And let's face it, those holidays are just around the corner. These companies prey on people's needs and wants. They would have potential new customers believe their weight-loss products are good and completely safe to use. Now after nearly four decades of doing what I do, you can imagine how many of these weight-loss commercials and infomercials I've seen. And I must say, some of them are downright insulting. I have to wonder, how can people believe some of their ridiculous claims? I have to wonder, how can people believe some of their ridiculous claims? And by the time the U.S. Food & Drug Administration intervenes and yanks them from the tube, these companies have already made millions selling their weight-loss pipe dreams. I saw a commercial last year and it showed this lady sprinkling some kind of powder onto her food. It claimed that the powder would "neutralize" the effect of food's calories on her body and help her lose weight. Wow! So, uhhh, using this powder would help her literally "melt away" the pounds? (G-r-r-r-o-a-n!) As I watched the commercial, I said to myself...Oh, come on! Nobody's ever gonna fall for that! But wait. Lo-and-behold, that product became one of the best selling weight-loss products for 2010. And oh yes, it's back this year, too. Will these weight-loss snake-oils ever end? I just have to wonder. Will these weight-loss snake-oils ever end? Sometimes, those of us who fight to lose weight become very gullible. You know how it is. We end up believing...the unbelievable! I wonder if others who watch commercials, like the one I just told you about, ever wonder themselves. Do they wonder what's in that "special powder"? Honestly, to me, it could simply be crumbled up diet pills. (What do you think?) And here's something else. You have to keep ordering more of the powder from that company, thanks to their little built-in continuity program. Ka-ching! Looks like they're going to end up owning part of your credit card. You know that weight-loss does not come in "powder form". Now look, you're not stupid. In fact, I know you're a very intelligent. And how do I know? Well, because you come here to read my messages everyday and I do my very best to make you even smarter. Especially when it comes to the truth about losing weight. You know how to lose weight. And you also know that weight-loss does not come in powder form. Here's how the weight-loss comes: Put less food on your plate. Make exercise your new best friend. (When you do, you'll see the power of sweat instead of the power of powder!) And of course, along with taking control of your eating habits and making regular exercise a regular part of your life, you've got to want it. You've got to believe you can do this. And I'm telling you...you can! Follow my three simple rules and here's my guarantee, you will lose this weight! I could tell you more about some of the other weight-loss commercials coming out in the last quarter of this year. You just wouldn't believe the claims some of them make. And oh yeah, in the meantime, if you're channel-surfing and see one of these commercials? Well, stop long enough to give them a quick look and tell yourself...never! Then keep surfing.
