Guest guest
"WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?" Tuesday, 19 April 2011 When I opened Slimmons 35 years ago and began teaching my workout classes, my students would often ask, ", where does all of your energy come from?" When I was on General Hospital an later premiered my own TV show, The Show, members of the press would also pose that question: ", where do you get so much energy?" And now, over 30 years later, I was doing a TV interview and the anchor offered his own explanation of why I was always so full of energy. Here's what he said, ", you have so much energy and I think I've figured out where you get it from. It has to be those sparkly tank-tops of yours!" He was obviously admiring the sparkling tank-top I was wearing on his show when he made that observation. And when the anchor offered his theory, everyone on the set just laughed out loud, right along with me. I was laughing because the anchor thought he was making a joke but, psssst! In reality, it was more like he was telling the truth! Okay, I'll let you in on my energizing secret. The fabric used in my tank-tops is a very special fabric. And see, when the crystals are attached to the tank-top's special microfiber, something special happens when you put them on. I walk outside and once the sun hits the crystals and the fabric...ZAP! It feels like lightening bolts running through my legs and arms. I'm immediately all charged up and can't be stopped! That EverReady Bunny has nothing on me, baby. And that's where all of my energy comes from! So, now you know. LOL. Well okay, that isn't really where I get all of this energy. But let me tell you, I don't get my energy from some pill or one of those so-called "energy" drinks, either. I get my energy from my mind. You see, it all begins in the mind...everything! And when you keep your mind busy and active, your body is filled with more energy. When you have purpose in your life, you're rewarded with bountiful energy. I leap out of bed and the first thing I do every morning is go right to the list I made out the day before of all the things I need to get done that day. I think about all of the phone calls I have to make and all of the meetings I have scheduled for my new day. And you know what else? I get excited about the day ahead of me. I'm ready to take it on! I'm excited about being blessed with another day on this earth and having the opportunity to do more of the things I love to do. To tell you the truth, I'm so charged up first thing in the morning, I can hardly contain myself. I'm like a bottle of champagne, the cork has just been released and...POP! There I go! All day long, I'm excited to meet the people I'll be working with. And I just love meeting new people. It's as if they're each a brand new gift for me to unwrap. The excitement I have in the morning lasts me all day until day's end when I'm putting on my moisturizer, preparing for a good night's sleep. And oh yeah, before I go to bed, I make a list of everything I have to do the next day. I read that list one more time before going to bed and I'm all excited to get up the next morning and dive right into that brand new day! And hey, I want you to have the same kind of energy I feel at the beginning of each day. Yes, you get lots of energy when you "feed" that body of yours with your workouts. But remember, you've got to feed that brain of yours, too. Because, when you get right down to it, that's where the energy for your body begins. And nothing feeds your brain better than having...purpose! Now, back to the tank-tops. I'm trying to get a lot more of the special fabric they're made from so I can start selling them here on my web site. Look for them soon. Okay, I know you're laughing about all this and that's a good thing. Because that mind of yours, that energizing brain of yours just loves to feel you laugh!
