BOS

I had such a great time at our Project

Me meeting last Saturday at my workout studio,

Slimmons. I've been doing these meetings from the

first day I opened my club over 35 years ago.

Every Saturday before class, we'd

gather in the workout room and sit in a circle on the

floor. We'd begin each class by reading our Project

Me Passports together. It contains the 21 steps you

should take to feel good about yourself and stay on

program. I'll bet, by now that everyone has seen a

copy of my Passport.

The last sentence on my Passport are these words...I

am worth it. And I've always tried to make

sure that you know...you are worth it! If

you haven't read the positive and

important affirmations on my Passport before, here's

your chance...just

For each Project Me meeting, I always give everyone a

little homework assignment. And last week's

assignment was to name three successes in your

life. I want to share with you some of the

answers our class members shared with us.

"I graduated from college and went on to get my

Masters Degree." Here's another one, "I

ran my first marathon and made it all the way to the

end of the run." Someone shared as one of

their successes, "I've raised three beautiful

children and one really nice husband, too."

I've got another one here, "I started a business

several years ago and each year, we're doing

better!" (How fab for her.) And you've gotta

love this one, "After having breast cancer, I've

been cancer-free for five years now. I decided to

take better care of myself and I've been rewarded

with much better health because of it." (Gotta

put a big behind that one!)

Oh, our members had so many

successes to share, I just have to go on..."I'm a

good friend to my friends and family." Someone

said, "I've been completely sober for five

years. I haven't had a single drink in that time

and attend my support group meetings regularly."

One lady told us, "I just finished nursing school

and I've already found a job in a great hospital not

far from where I live."

And, I'm so proud to say that a lot of the successes

shared last Saturday read like this, "I've lost

weight and I'm down to a healthy weight for the

first time in decades. And now I feel so good, I

feel like nothing can stop me!"

As I sat there in class, reading everyone's successes,

many of the people in class got a little teary-eyed.

One on them told me that no one had ever asked about

her successes before. And now that I'd read hers to

the rest of the class, I could see that she was proud

as a peacock of her accomplishments. And she

should have been! It's good to acknowledge

your accomplishments and successes.

So I guess you may be wondering

what the title of this message, BOS is all

about, huh? Well no, it's not short for Boston. BOS

stands for...BUILD ON SUCCESS. Look, if you

sit around all day simply counting your woes, you'll

never have any successes in life. I can promise you

that.

But when you think about your past successes, you'll

want to build on them by having new areas of success

in your life. Okay, I have to share a little story

with you here.

When I opened Slimmons all of those years ago, I began

writing a book. First, I put together a

questionnaire and lots of people completed it for me.

I'd hand my questionnaires out at airports, in

shopping malls, just where ever I might be and had the

chance to see lots of people. Once they were done, I

brought all of the questionnaires with me to

Slimmons. And from the information I'd collected from

them, I created my first book,

Never Say Diet Book.

I worked on that book 5-6 hours every night, even

after I taught my Sweatin' class at Slimmons. And

within a few months, I was finished with an outline

for the book and even the first few chapters. I felt

it was a good book with a lot of important information

that people really needed to read.

After it was released, I was so

excited! Never Say Diet was on the New

York Times Bestseller's List for 52 weeks!

And you know what? The success from my book propelled

me to other successes in my life.

I want you to look at all of the things in your life

that've have made you a successful person. But don't

just look at them, you know what else you've got to

do...BOS. That's right, BUILD ON YOUR SUCCESS!

Because when you do, even more success will come your

way!

Love,
