WHAT ARE YOUR

FOOD WEAKNESSES?

Friday, 04 November 2011

On my Cruise To Lose, I had quite a few men

and women who needed to lose 100 pounds or more.

During our group dinner each night, I'd go from

table-to-table saying hello to everyone. And I have

to admit, I noticed some people who had lots of weight

to lose eating foods they really should not have

been eating...not if they wanted to lose weight!

When you gain 100 or more

pounds, it means you had to have some major food

weaknesses to get there.

When you gain 100 or more pounds and add them to your

frame, it means you had to have some major food

weaknesses to get there.

One lady on the cruise came on board walking

with a cane. But yet there she was, having French

fries at dinner. Look, I know what it's like, being

addicted to fried foods because I was addicted

to them for years. Hey, just show me one of those Big

Daddy deep fryers and I'd be your friend for life!

Fried foods are not only terrible for your weight but

for your arteries and heart, as well. The grease in

fried foods clogs your arteries which can lead to a

stroke, heart attack or even, God forbid, in

time...could cost you your life. Now tell me, are the

fried foods worth all that?

I noticed another lady on the cruise who had to have

dessert every night. I'm not talking a fresh fruit

plate or a scoop of sherbet here, either. I'm

talking Carnival Cruise Line's famous chocolate

melting cake, apple pie or cappuccino ice

cream! This lady had over 100 pounds to lose and,

honestly, how was she ever going lose weight having a

calorie-loaded dessert every night, huh? Later,

following one of our seminars, this same lady admitted

to me that she simply couldn't resist sweets and they

were a real problem for her weight-loss efforts.

Well, none of us should be surprised to hear that,

right?

I love candies, cookies,

pastries and just about any dessert. But I know

better than to keep them in my home.

Hey, just like with fried foods, sweets were a problem

for me, too. Are you kidding? I love candies,

cookies, pastries and just about any dessert. But I

know better than to keep them in my home where they

can tempt me and I may end up eating them.

Then there was the lady who had to have a drink every

night at dinner. And I don't mean sparkling spring

water, either. I'm talking about a mixed drink loaded

with alcohol. She had her cocktail every night and,

one night, she even had two! Okay, how are

you supposed to lose weight when you're consuming that

much liquor? There's lots of calories in those

cocktails. Just one ounce of hard liquor contains 100

calories and

that's before you add any of the mixers. (Hear those

calories adding up?) And too much liquor is no good

for your skin, not to mention what years of alcohol

consumption can do to your internal organs. You

really need to steer clear of the alcohol if you want

to lose weight, okay?

Oh yes, the list of food weaknesses is just about

endless. I saw someone adding salt to just about

everything she ate on the ship. As soon as the waiter

put that plate of food down, her salt shaker went up!

She salted her salads, her soups and her entrees. And

I have to tell you, that cruise food was

already salted enough. By the way, too much salt can

lead to hardening of the arteries and a host of other

medical problems.

How do you face all of

these food weaknesses?

So how do you face all of these food weaknesses? You

do it by focusing on your goals and keeping the foods

you get weak for...out of your kitchens.

Like me, many of you reading today's message are

compulsive eaters. And oh yes, I'm still tempted to

be compulsive sometimes and eat more than I need to.

But today, I'm more compulsive about feeling good and

staying healthy. And that's the kind of

compulsion we all should

have.

Love,
