WHAT A

FEELING!

Thursday, 04 August 2011

I had

a wonderful Auditorium a few days ago. Lots of my

Clubhouse Members attended and we had a great

conversation. As usual, everyone had a homework

assignment to complete before joining our Auditorium

discussion. This week's homework assignment was to

answer this question: Name three of the highlights

in your life for the month of July. And oh boy,

did I ever hear some great highlights.

I was glad to see how many of my Clubhouse

Members had been successful in July with their

weight-loss efforts. They were boasting about how their

clothes had become baggy as they lost weight. In fact,

some of them had been out buying new clothes in July.

Of

course, as you lose weight, you lose inches around your

waist. And when you lose those inches, your old clothes

don't fit like they used to. They're all lose and

baggy. (A fun "problem" to have, right?)

One of the ladies in the auditorium told us that while

on vacation last month, her old pants were just about

falling off her waist. So she had to stop at a local

mall and buy some new pants. She was shocked when she

fit into a pair of pants that were two sizes smaller

than the pants that were now falling off her waist. Not

one size smaller, mind you, but two sizes

smaller! At first, she figured the pants simply had to

be labeled wrong. But no, they certainly weren't.

She then thought back to how she'd been making all of

the right choices when it came to what she'd been eating

the past couple of months. She thought about all of the

sweat that had poured from her body because of the

dedicated workouts she'd been doing everyday. Hey, that's

why she was fitting into pants that were two

sizes smaller. And do you know what else she said? "Oh...WHAT

A FEELING!"

I'll

bet! Hey, it feels good when inches are

disappearing from your waist and from all over your

body. It feels good when you put on

something, look in the mirror and look so good that a

smile beams across your face. And it feels good

when others notice how good you look!

Doesn't it?

Last year, I decided to lose a little fat around my

middle so I could get back to my perfect weight. And

know what? Once I did lose the weight, those

famous striped Dolfin shorts of mine didn't fit so well

anymore. When I was teaching class, I was afraid they

were gonna fall off me right in the middle of one of my

leg lifts. Oh, my! I sure didn't want to

have one of those "wardrobe malfunctions" like Janet

had while performing at the Super Bowl a few

years ago. LOL. Thankfully, my dear , who works

so hard on my outfits, made those Dolfin shorts smaller

and they now fit me to a "T!" What a feeling!

About

20 years ago, I loved this movie called Flashdance.

(Remember it?) In that movie, Irene Cara sang a song

called What A Feeling. I used that number a

lot in my classes back in the 80's. And you know what?

When you feel good about the way you look, when you feel

good about your success, you enjoy living your life so

much more, don't you?

I hope one of the highlights for you this

month will be having to buy new clothes because your

old ones are too big. And by the time September

rolls around, I want you to be shouting...What a

feeling!

Love,
