I love your new bowl, too! Sounds like a great week!

[One Small Bowl] Week 79

Yesterday, I went shopping again. I needed a few supplies from Hobby Lobby and wanted to check out the new Antique Mall on the way home.

I got so absorbed in shopping that I completely forgot to eat and was surprised by the sudden intense hunger....9 hours after breakfast! lol. I usually bring a lunch with me, but had forgotten to, and I have say that even as hungry as I was, even though I hit 3 specialty grocery stores, I found nothing to eat, as it was either too expensive or too carby. I finally made it home and ate. I am getting so much better at dealing with hunger and not thinking I am going to die. At any time I could have bought something to eat, but I sensed it was best just to go home and eat.

Yesterday's Meals:

6am bowl: scrambled eggs with cream, butter and sea salt

3pm bowl: ground beef with cabbage, tomatoes, bell pepper

7pm bowl: Portuguese sausage, tomatoes, bell pepper

11pm bowl; liver pate (small scoop)

Liquids:

coffee with cream

1/2 gallon hibiscus tea

2 cans diet pepsi

1 rum and cream on ice

BG this morning was 95, up a bit, probably from the late meal and rum drink. Today ends my 79th week. I have not lost any weight this week, I am still at 236. My BG's this week were: 112/106/128/106/102/85 and 95. The number of bowls of food I ate each day was: 6/6/4/5/5/4 and unknown for today. I ate low carb every day and have been in ketosis since the 28th of March. The week before, I had 2-3 glasses of wine everyday except for three days, this week I had a total of 3 drinks in two days. My main goal this week was to stay as low carb as possible to see a drop in the BG's, and it was accomplished. My goal for my 80th week is to lose weight! I made sure that I had no restrictions other than cutting back on the booze and keeping the carbs as low as possible.

I am feeling great, sleeping better and feel more relaxed now that my eating is back in a better place both physically and mentally. I am delighted with my plan, my foods and have not had the slightest feeling of deprivation, except with the booze. lol. Oh, and crunchy snacks. I saw a great deal of them yesterday and I have to say I miss potato chips, fried tortillas and loads of sour cream. I just know that I would start the cycle over again if I ate them, so this past week had not snacks, it was a meal in a bowl or nothing. I made another batch of "candy" fat. This time I combined butter and coconut oil, dark cocoa powder, stevia and as it cooled down, I stirred it until a soft paste. It is much softer than when I used just coconut oil. I like getting in my extra fat this way, as a change of pace. I seemed to like it best twice a day, about 2T at a time. It tastes like those little Ice Cube chocolates. I steamed a head of cauliflower, defrost a chicken breast and a half a tube of ground pork. I have to be careful not to make too much of one kind of meal, or I grow tired of it. I am not ready to give too much thought to food, so I will write tomorrow what I ended up making.

And of course this week, Nambe came into my life. lol. You can call me crazy, but I swear this little bowl has a personality! It is smug with it's origins, artful and sensual with it's shape, reflective in it's mirror finish. lol. I love how food looks in it, it seems to heighten the colours.

Here is my Portuguese sausage dish. It gave me a definite "stop" while eating it, I could barely finish it. I am now at 3pm and so far have only had 2 bowls of food. Interesting, that I am not trying to control how much I eat, but it seems to take care of itself. I’ll eat again when I am truly hungry.
