ROLEX

Friday, 03 June 2011

I received a

catalog in the mail the other day from an

ultra-fancy jewelry store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly

Hills. A few days later, as I was walking down

Rodeo one afternoon, I passed the store that sent me

the catalog. And, lo-and-behold, in the window was

the same Rolex watch I'd seen in the catalog. I

almost fainted when I saw the price. (Are you

sitting down?) It was $80,000! Yep, you

read right. My goodness! In some parts of

the country, you can just about buy a whole

house with that kind of money! Well,

needless to say, I did not buy the watch.

Anyway, I

kept walking and, just a couple of blocks from that

snooty little jewelry store was a Right-Aid

pharmacy. I needed a few items from them so I

walked on in. But get this, while I was picking up

the stuff I needed, I saw the cutest little Hello

Kitty watch. And do you know what it cost?

Nine bucks! Yep, $9.00.

Now look, I guess some people feel they have to

sport an $80,000 Rolex on their wrists to keep up

with the time. (Why, I don't know.) But,

consider this. The person sporting that $80,000

watch doesn't get any more time in their day than

the person wearing a $9.00 Hello Kitty

watch! Although you might think, for 80 grand, the

person wearing the fancy Rolex ought to at

least get a couple of extra hours a day from

the deal, right? LOL!

But what

many people don't do is prioritize the 24

hours they do get...everyday.

Now I'm leading up to an important point and here

it comes. The #1 reason people in America use for

not exercising is: I just don't have the time!

And okay, so I've used that same-old wearied excuse

myself in my early days of trying to lose weight.

But that really is a terrible excuse. In

fact, speaking of time, that excuse could

end up costing your good health as you get older.

See, people who make time to workout are the ones

who reap the added benefits of having healthier

bodies and living longer lives.

Now let me ask, how much TV do you watch? Goodness,

there're so many channels to choose from these days,

if you wanted, you could watch television...24

hours-a-day! And oh yeah, how much time do

you spend at your computer? Hey, you can sit there

all day blogging, chatting, Tweeting or even looking

at museum collections on the Internet from all over

the world. All the while you're, well...just

sitting there!

I wonder how much time you spend talking on the

phone everyday? And goodness knows how many text

messages some people find time to send each day!

Hey, I'll bet you can shave some time from all of

those activities and make more time to be

physically active. Oh yes, you can find

that one hour-a-day you need to get your workouts

in.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it's great finding

time everyday to work on your minds. Hey, I want

you to be smart enough to answer all of the

questions in every category of Jeopardy!

But if you're really smart, you'll work the time in

to your daily life to get your workouts in, too!

I do my workouts in the morning. Oh, I just love

getting my body going in the A.M. I have lots of

fabulous music to listen to as I sweat, tone and

stretch. I'm telling you, my workouts have become

one of my good habits. Not only do they

make me strong and healthy but they fill my mind

with positive thoughts that'll carry me through my

entire day!

So tell me, do you have an $80,000 Rolex or a $9.00

Hello Kitty watch? Just remember, it

doesn't really matter because both of them are going

to give you the very same...24 hours-a-day. Use

them wisely!

Love,
