brand new month, that's what. Welcome

to September, everybody!

No!! How did it get so late in the year already??

Just yesterday driving to the aunt's house to do some more packing

we drove past this one tree that had those light green leaves like

you see on trees in the spring, when the first start growing. In my

over-stressed head I said to myself: "Yeah, the warm weather is

rapidly approaching. It's so hot today already!" Then a few blocks

later I saw a tree starting to turn red and was snapped out of my

revelry and brought back to reality. The warm weather is waning, not

waxing! Soon SNOW will be here!! NOOO!! We then

started talking about how we hope we get the house emptied and sold

before the first snowfall. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

So let me ask, in those eight months, have you

developed a healthier lifestyle for yourself?

Life has been crazier than ever, thanks to Ed's aunt. Sure, I eat

right and exercise, but have no time for *me* anymore except a bit

in the mornings, like now.

> During the first eight months of 2011, you could

have lost anywhere from 40-60 pounds, depending on

what your starting weight was back in January.

And if that aunt had a **** she's be an uncle. At the doctor's the

past 2 weeks, while he was not happy to see I had gained since he

saw me in early spring, we were both glad it was only a 5 pound

gain. I was the same weight 2 Mondays in a row at the office, and by

Friday I had already lost 4 of those pounds, but this past weekend 2

of them went back on, thanks to 2 skipped meals and a swollen hand

and feet.

>Uh, you do remember January, don't you?

Cold? Dark? About 50 inches of snow? Yeah, I remember it. I'm

already preparing for *next* January, stocking up on canned goods

and a new dryer rack for those weeks I can't leave the house because

the car is buried under 5 foot high snowdrifts.

>Over

the past eight months, have you make exercise a

regular part of your days?

YES! This is one thing I do consistently when I can. When I flipped

the calendar over to September I saw I missed only 3 days in all of

August. I already missed one day this month of formal exercise, but

spent about 4 hours scrubbing floors & furniture and packing

(and carrying) boxes on that day.

>And tell

me, overall, how has your attitude been during the

past eight months?

Don't ask! I'm hoping things improve: 1) after we sell the aunt's

house, 2) I can get control of this joint and muscle pain, 3) the

doc figures out WHY I'm having so much joint and muscle pain - that

I get a diagnosis and adequate treatment. Maybe after all that I can

finally get a good night's sleep and feel better, emotionally as

well as physically. Last night I had a grand total of 4 1/2 hours

sleep, and that was one of the *longer* sleeps the past few months.

>That's because the next three months will be holiday

months. I'm talking Halloween, Thanksgiving

and Christmas.

And in our family of 3, all three birthdays as well as our 34th

wedding anniversary.

>I

like to challenge you each and every month. I've

challenged you this year to lose five pounds each

month.

Right now, I'll be filled with joy to end the year at the same

weight I started it at! Heck, I'll be happy to just come out of this

year alive!
