I’m so sorry to hear about your grandfather, . That must have been really tough.

Glad to hear you are recommitting to your health, today. I think the 8 glasses of water really helps. I can tell a difference in my progress when I don’t drink enough water. Seventeen pounds in a month isn’t too bad with all the stress you were under. It could be worse. I went on vacation for three days and managed to gain 5 pounds! EEEK! And at least you are getting regrouped now rather than in another month when it could be 34 extra pounds!

We are right about neck and neck with our weight loss. I weighed in this morning at 345.9! And I started at 364. And I understand about the showering and dressing. I used to struggle with that, too, when I was depressed. Now I work full time and it isn’t an option anymore, but there are days when I wish I could!

Good luck with your journey and getting through the first day back at it.

Patti

Subject: Recommitment

Well, today I start over! It's amazing how it takes weeks to develop good habits and only days to fall back into bad ones. August was not a good month at all! My grandfather passed away a few weeks ago and it has been really hard on me. This is the man that raised me and taught me everything from football to cars, driving to gardening. He lived a long, happy life (93 years)and he was ready to go but the selfish part of me wants him back. Between the mad rush to get there, the lack of control or concern over food during the days at the hospital and then funeral, and then just the grieving when I got home, I have completely undone all the good habits I had worked toward. I have gained almost 17 pounds in the last month! While some of this is water weight beause of the salt and processed food, I can hardly claim it all as water. So, I am back today. Recommitting to my health. My goals for today are pretty simple: Eat three mealsDrink 8 glasses of waterTake all medsShower and dress (this one I struggle with when depressed)Trying to regroup.......352/346/298

Thank you Patti!

Day One went pretty well. I completely most of the activities I had listed for

the day. Te one or two I did not get done were OK since I did other things along

the way. The point was to do SOMETHING. I also followed my eating plan for the

day. Still need a few tweaks but to go from all comfort food to following a plan

was a positive step.

I hate to say that I am glad you understand about depression because it means

that you have been here too. I would not wish this on anyone! But it is nice for

some one to understand a little of it. Not everyone does.

I have again written my activity and food plan for the day. I will venturing out

of the house today for the first time in a week. Part of that is the depression

and part of that is tying to stay put to save gas while I am not working. I am

in school full-time (four classes)but they are online classes so there is no

need for me to leave the house. Convenient but not the best set up for someone

suffering from depression.

Thanks again!
