CRUISE TO LOSE

REFLECTIONS

Wednesday, 02 November 2011

This past Monday, we had our weekly Clubhouse

Chat. I do them once a week to help keep everyone

motivated and focused on getting healthier. Before Chat begins each Monday night, my

Clubhouse members have a homework assignment to turn

in.

This week's homework

assignment was to tell me their favorite parts of the

Cruise To Lose.

Lost of Clubhouse members joined me last week

on my 30th Cruise To Lose. So this week's homework

assignment was for them to tell me their favorite

parts of the cruise.

I have to say that topping just about everyone's list

were our Sweatin' classes. The

ship let us use their big showroom everyday. You

should see that room, it's

huge! I'm

talking a big stage, a great sound system and lots of

colorful lighting effects. I'm telling you, our

Sweatin' classes were like being part of a fabulous

Broadway show! I had people dancing in front of me in

the audience and lots of them came on stage and were

dancing behind me, too. Oh, I was surrounded by my

sweatin' cruisers and I loved it! All I could see

were their bodies in motion and the big smiles on

their faces...behind all of that sweat.

LOL. Boy,

did we ever have fun!

Quite a few of my cruisers listed the cooking demo and

recipes I gave them on the cruise as their faves. If

you're eating the same-old foods all the time, you'll

end up getting bored and may even attack a banana

cream pie! That's why I've always created recipes

that taste good but won't end up on your hips.

I prepared each of the dishes in my own kitchen back

home in Los Angeles. Michele, my assistant recorded

my preparing each recipe with her Flip video camera

and I presented each recipe to my Cruisers. (It was

like watching me on the Food

Network!) This year, I created five tasty

recipes, everything from a yummy noodle dish to a

tasty chopped salad. Everyone told me afterwards they

can't wait to try those dishes when they returned

home.

I did a seminar called

Fascinating People and

it received lots of votes as a cruise favorite.

I also did a seminar called Fascinating

People and

it received lots of votes as a cruise favorite.

Here's how it worked. The first night of the cruise,

I asked everyone to list two of the most fascinating

people they'd meet in our group that week. On the

last day of the cruise, I had those nominated as most

fascinating people on stage so I could interview them

as everyone looked on. We learned some important

lessons from each of them and, I must say, each of

them was truly...fascinating.

I'm glad everyone had such a great time on the Cruise

to Lose. And what, (you may be asking), what were my

favorite parts of the cruise? Well, as you might

guess, I loved our Sweatin' classes, too. I loved

seeing the smiles on everyone's faces and seeing the

sweat on their clothes after each class. I liked

dancing on the table in the ship's restaurant and

making everyone laugh, even the ship's passengers who

were not part of our group.

Most of all, I just loved

being with my Cruisers, my friends.

But most of all, I just loved being with my Cruisers,

my friends. Many of them I've known for twenty years

or longer. I know everyone went home motivated to

work hard, lose weight and get healthy. And you know

what? That's the reason I've always done my cruises.

By the way, even though you may not have been

with us at sea, I wish for you what I wish for all of

my cruisers. And that is for you to be healthy, to

love life and to always take good care of...YOU!

Love,
