>Weekly Weigh-In (Voluntary)

Still doing the Jersey Bounce over here, going up to 268 then down to

264 and landing on everything in-between.

Not having an easy time getting formal exercise in around here because

of the boxes and extra furniture squeezed into this already crowded

apartment, but I do what I can in the small space between the computer

and the closets across from it, a space about 5 feet wide by 3 feet

deep. As long as I don't flail my arms around too much to take too wide

of a side-step I can still do enough to get my heart rate into the zone

doing Sansone videos without getting bruised or knocking anything

over.

I'll be so happy to get my living room back! And my hallways. And my

bedroom. I made a vow to myself to empty 2 boxes a day, but it's hard to

keep when each box contains reams of papers, many with addresses,

important information, or even the aunt's social security number on

them. Back in the 1950's and '60's people thought nothing of using that

as an ID number. Heck, it was that way into the early 2000's, when the

SSN was my son's college ID number for his first 2 years! So it's dirty

and tedious work going through every sheet of paper. Yesterday I found

her husband's father's union cards dated from 1922 to 1925! Those people

saved EVERY scrap of paper that ever came into the house, using the

backs of bank papers for scrap or the backs of envelopes to write

important information. My hands are so full of papercuts I'm getting

anemic! LOL

One thing that *isn't* funny is how all this moldy, dusty paper is

affecting my asthma. I've been taking hits of my rescue inhaler on a

daily basis. It's hard to exercise aerobically if you can't get enough

air in and out of your lungs.

As far as food is concerned, now that we have the aunt's house

practically emptied out (The prospective buyers are still making up

their minds what furniture and appliances they want to keep) I'm no

longer making daily trips there, so I have time for home cooked meals

again. But I wake up in the mornings, take my thyroid pill, then because

I have to wait an hour before eating or drinking anything else, I hang

out on the computer. Next thing I know I look up and 2 or more hours

have passed and I still haven't taken my other meds or started on

exercise for the day. Then I want to get a head start on the day's

boxes. Some mornings, by the time I'm ready for breakfast it's already

around noon, so I either skip breakfast or lunch, grab my food, then get

back to the boxes and start dinner a few hours later. We eat that meal

around 4:30 - 5pm when my husband gets in from work. By the time 8pm

rolls around I'm starving again, since I only had 2 meals for the day.

Many days I just go hungry, then wake up in the middle of the night

ravenous and can't get back to sleep, even if it's only 2am. Other

nights, like last night, I'm really hungry at 8 so start scrounging

around for something to eat, and wind up with either leftovers (So it's

another full meal, just before going to sleep) or a bowl of veggies. I

can't eat fruit before bed - weird dreams, plus the water in the fruit

makes me get up to pee every hour or so. I'm trying to avoid flour

products so crackers are out, even whole grain ones. Unsalted rice cakes

just make me thirsty, and the last thing I would even think of doing is

drinking before bed. My old bladder can't handle that any more. I get up

every 3 hours as it is and I stop drinking no later than 6pm now. Take

today - I got up at 4:30, took the synthroid at 5, played on the

computer until about 6:15, did my workout, and now, instead of getting

my coffee and starting breakfast I'm sitting here at the computer again.

I'm just so far behind on my messages it isn't funny. I

still have a few Groups that go back to September I haven't read! There

just aren't enough hours in the day!

One good thing came from being on the computer in the mornings - I got

an email from Half.com telling me an item on my wish list was available

at my price. I'm now the proud owner of a copy of the

cookbook Steam Away the Pounds! I only had a chance to do a quick flip

through it, just enough to notice that once again he failed to include

the FoodMover window exchanges in the recipes, so before I start popping

these up on our sister list, http://www./group/rsdeal ,

I'll have to type them into MasterCook to get the exchanges, so it'll be

a while before I can get to that. But there are still loads of healthy,

lower-cal recipes on that list in the Files and archives there so why

not stop by and take a look, even posting your own favorite recipes

either here or there. This Group also has a Files section where you can

share your own recipes, so go ahead, don't be shy. :)

Well, I'm actually getting a bit hungry, so before I start to do

anything else, let me grab breakfast for the first time this week. Plans

for the day include doing 2 more boxes, but I'm also making a run to the

grocery store. They're predicting snow tomorrow night so when we wake up

Sunday we could have anywhere from 1 inch (US Weather Service

prediction) to over 6 inches (The Weather Channel). Either amount will

make the roads a mess, interfering with our usual Sunday grocery

shopping trip, so it'll be easier to go today. I just have to scrounge

around the house to find some cash, because payday isn't until tomorrow.

I'm sure we have something hidden away someplace.

I had to LOL @ the Jersey Bounce, Sue!

So I'm doing some Washington version of it, huh? Actually, I am doing fairly well on a downward (step like) pattern. I think in the last 9 weeks or so, I have lost 14 lbs, so average is like 1.55 per week, if I can hold this pattern, I will stay happy....

It just gets boring and frustrating and when you want to tend to stuff your face to cover emotions, etc it can make it extremely difficult.

Mom and her sister have been over to grandma's once or twice to work on cleaning out her closet and dresser drawers of clothing/jewelry type items, so there are a handful of bags of stuff in our living room now, so I can relate somewhat to your boxes and piles of stuff.

Not sure when they'll head out to do more. She's not keeping the clothing, since nothing fits her, she is just using our place as a stopping place and then giving things to others (people or groups)

I have it easy (hahaha) now, because I cannot make the decisions for them, so I just get to help shuffle things around.

I was "this close" to thinking I wanted to go to work today/Saturday, but then when I was leaving work yesterday I was like no, I won't be in this weekend, I need a couple of mellow days.

Between work, life and kid stuff, like I said before, I will be busy doing something through the end of November. I am going to CA Dec 2-6 to see Jay and then we're into throes of holidays and such.

Take care everyone,
