WINGING IT

Tuesday, 29 March 2011

For about six months, I've been

working with a production company on a pilot for my

new reality TV show. It's called At Slimmons

With . It'll be based on my

exercise studio, SLIMMONS

which, as you know, I've had in Los Angeles for 36

years now. In fact, many of you have been to

Slimmons so you know what a magical place it is.

Preparing for the new show, we've

been shooting bits and pieces of my Project Me motivation

classes at Slimmons. In Project Me, we talk about our

weight-loss efforts from the past week. After Project

Me is done, we begin our exercise class where we

"talk" to our bodies by making them sweat!

If you watch much TV, you know there're quite a few

weight-loss shows on the air these days. Many of

those shows are very serious and, frankly, I find some

of them even a little depressing. Well hey, that's

not my style. I like to point out that most of us had

"fun" putting the weight on and...I think we should

have fun losing the weight, too!

Now let's be honest, I'm the only true "fitness clown"

out there. But let me tell you, we don't clown around

at Slimmons, not when it comes to losing the weight.

Many of the people who've been members of my studio,

I'm thrilled to say, have lost lots of weight and are

now living healthier lives because they did. Hooray

for all of them!

So we finished the pilot for At Slimmons With

and...WOW! I have to

say that everyone did a truly remarkable job telling

the story of what my new show will be about. They've

scheduled eleven appointments with network

and cable-TV companies for me to meet with and to

discuss the new show with. Last Friday, I had the

first one of those meetings.

Before leaving, I was standing in

my dressing room at home thinking to myself, "What

am I going to wear to this meeting? A tank-top and

shorts? No. A serious suit? No." But then I

spotted the perfect outfit from the corner of my eye.

I put on a white shirt, a white pair of pants

a-n-n-n-d this pair of red four-foot

angel's wings that were hanging in my closet.

I'm not kidding. I put the wings on and, you know

what? I felt like...ME! I was ready for

the meeting.

I walked into the lobby of this fancy building and

everyone came up to tell me how much they loved my

wings. Then the camera phones came out because they

all wanted to take photos with me. As I walked to the

office where my meeting would be held, all of these

heads were peering above the office cubicles as

everyone was trying to get a look at me and my wings.

I wore my wings for the entire

time and a few people in the meeting even wanted to

try them on. Later, after returning home, I looked on

Facebook

and Twitter

and what did I see? Well, all of these photos of

me...winging it. LOL!

This past weekend, I went out and bought myself some

more wings. I bought white-feathered wings. I got

myself a pair of butterfly wings, even a pair of

dragonfly wings. Oh yeah, I also ordered a pair of

bumblebee wings. I'm going to wear a different pair

of wings to all of the other meetings I have coming

up. Okay, I know a lot of you are probably thinking

I'm a little crazy but hey...it's a good kind of

crazy!

Love,
