Guest guest
My knee is swollen today (this week, in general). It's been painful, etc. I know I did something to tweak it exercising a week ago, so I have taken the week off from exercise.I have been eating crap and I gained 2.6 lbs this week. This has got to stop! This will stop!Today! I took measurements when I weighed and I will go 6 weeks, or until 5/1/11 for my next measurements. That would be the day of the 12k if I were participating this year. It is always on the first Sunday in May. Part of me is sad that I do not feel I can push myself to participate this year, but the other part of me says we have to know our own limitations. If "gentle" exercising can still piss my knee off, I know walking 7.5 miles on it would be a major set back. It's been 6 months since my surgery. My weight is still up because of fluctuations and I am sure swelling. Like I said, my knee is swollen (I measure it, so I can tell better when it is holding fluids). My mother has been going to town with the baked goods and breads. I need to stop (or continue to stop) eating them. When I tell myself something is not my food, it has been working. For example, someone brought mini cheesecakes the other day (like a cupcake, only cheesecake) and I told myself it wasn't my food and I didn't have any.Another day, a co-worker brought in tea to give away. It's "only" tea, but I need to stay in the mindset, so I didn't take any, told myself it wasn't mine.Last night was pizza night - I know that is part of why the weight (and retention) are up this morning. I had 2 slices and told the kids they could have my other two LOL!! Good for me! I woke up this morning and there are no left-overs.I am happy to have no temptations in the house this morning.I loved the veggie sandwiches on the Arnold Thins this past week. The spinach is probably getting iffy a week later, so I will do omelette(s) with that and the mushrooms today and then go to the store for more provisions.I had my "annual" blood tests yesterday. I am sure they are testing cholosterol (sp?), triglycerides, etc and also the thyroid.I think my thyroid is broken. I am cold all of the time, I am tired all of the time, among other "symptoms" of a wacked thyroid. If the test comes back "normal" - I think we'll have to pursue other things with my medical type person, but at least this is a start and will be a good comparison to the last test numbers from two years ago.I will exercise today for 30 minutes, even if it is "only" walking. I have learned that even if my knee is pissed off, I need to do something for that 30 minutes. Otherwise, I will just sit over here and gain and gain and gain.I hope you all have had a great weekend and have a wonderful week ahead of you. Oh, and happy spring! in WA 310 / 287 /?
